Pitt 13, WVU 9

I could freaking cry my eyeballs out. But I’m sure there are happy people in Columbus, Athens, and or Baton Rouge…

Not in Columbia tho-Mizzou just lost big to Oklahoma.

Parity comes to NCAA I-A football.

There are some happy people here in Pittsburgh, too…

I’m happy- Mr. Neville is a professor at Pitt, and we both went to Maryland. We don’t like West Virginia.

Yeah, well… I’ll be a good sport and reserve the profanities and personal insults…

So, we’re looking at a national championship game between, who, Ohio State and Kansas? Or Ohio State and a two-loss Georgia team?

The talk show concensus seems to be Ohio State is going to play LSU. I don’t like LSU, but it will be funny to watch OSU (the lesser) get killed by another SEC team.

And I’ll reserve the West Virginia jokes… :stuck_out_tongue:

The two holding calls were absolutely atrocious.

The second one wasn’t even called by the ref standing two feet from the block. It came from about 15 yards downfield, and from the side where it was absolutely clear there was no holding.

It was SO BAD, and SO (potentially) INFLUENTIAL on the outcome that there HAS to be an investigation. I almost wish Pitt had lost just to hear the uproar.

I love games like that. Huge underdog. . .the tearful shots of the crowd.

On, and Rich Rodriguez can eat one, too. After the game, he’s says “we just didn’t execute. Pitt did everything we thought they were going to do.” (not exact, but close)

In other words, “us coaches had it right. But, the kids fucked up.”

He later went on to say “I take full responsibility,” but he didn’t mean it and he’d already said it differently.

That was the best football game of the weekend.

I can’t tell if there was a hold from the youtube replay I’ve seen, but the official “2 feet” away is not responsible for that block. The official who keys on the outside receiver and judges on fouls by/against him is the Side Judge, 20 yards upfield on that sideline.
