One poster’s “looking for things over which to be offended and people to scold” is another’s “pointing out and challenging injustice that for too long has gone unchallenged”.
I have little doubt that with every bit of progress in this country and this world, there were old fuddy-duddies complaining about how the younger generation are just whining about some bullshit, like slavery, or women’s rights, or civil rights, or gay rights, or trans rights, that’s really way overblown and not worth spending much time on.
What part of my post do you disagree with? I wasn’t stating my opinion on an issue – just what seems to me to be common sense. I wasn’t even stating that one way of looking at it was superior – just that inevitably there will be multiple ways of looking at things like this.
Sorry for pissing you off so much lately. Just trying to express myself and discuss things. I enjoy our discussions, whether or not you do.
I do think you tend to demonize conservative posters a bit too much. I remember when Clothahump got suspended, you put up a list of other conservatives/trolls to put on the watch list. Yes, it’s part and parcel of the Pit, but you resembled the peasant with the biggest torch leading the crowd to the next witch burning. It certainly vindicated the usual conservative Doper complaint that they were being unfairly targeted.
Do you have a cite for this? Or any other post from me in which I have demonized conservative posters? I can remember the posters I’ve attacked personally, and unless my memory’s way, way off, I can count them on one hand.
You don’t piss me off. Your heart is undeniably in the right place and your manners are good. I am no more than impatient with your impetuous idealism.
My google fu is failing me right now, but there was a Pit thread discussing Clothy’s suspension, and I thought I remembered iiandyii posting about other potential trolls to keep an eye on. When I included “iiandyii” in the search, google asked if I meant “icandy.” He didn’t start the thread.
