Most of us don’t have the time to deal with this petty shit. That thread is important. Steophan should be called out. But if you are going to mock him, call him a piece of shit and leave it at that. Because the rest of us don’t want to wade through hundreds of shitty posts to figure out what the fuck you are talking about. Can we leave the pitting of Steophan to this thread, and use that thread to talk about controversial encounters between law-enforcement and civilians?
What’s ironic is that Steophan himself is eager to jump on anyone who draws inferences from **Steophan’**s posts, the very thing he did (in spades!) with iiandyiiii.

Shodan uses snark when he can’t provide a counterargument. It’s not an uncommon tactic on this board.
What I think is better is to just point this out, rather than continue to engage after that point. Point out that their use of snark in place of an argument is them basically admitting your opponent is right. Or, at least, you can’t prove them wrong.
Snark + argument? Great. Snark alone while arguing? Admission that you can’t provide a counterargument.
