Pitting UltraVires

See, that’s the problem with this message board. All us woke liberals. We keep judging UV on his words, on the things he writes. We need to stop with that bullshit. What we need to do is really try to decipher what he means, because clearly his point is something true, profound, and completely helpful and accurate. We need to look past his words, and divine his true wisdom. Then, and only then, is this message board worthy.

Shame on us if we actually object to the things he is writing in his posts. We’re just too stupid with our left-wing blinders to comprehend the truth he is dispensing. He’s like a cypher from the Heavens above, and he cannot simply write what he means, because our puny mortal minds would snap if he simply wrote things plainly.

You can’t take his words literally, anymore you can just accept a Zen koan at face value, or assume a literal interpretation of the world’s prophets. A poet laureate doesn’t write in plain prose, after all. If UV writes that you can assume that a sexual encounter absent bleeding and broken bones should be presumed to be consensual, you can’t simply assume he means that a sexual encounter absent bleeding and broken bones should be presumed to be consensual, you idiotic heathen. No, clearly he means something much deeper, and if you take offense at his words, then all of the blame lies with you.

Well, apparently we can hear one hand clapping four times on a plane.

It strikes me that this makes Atamasama’s post only more accurate.

Mmmm, I’m pretty sure I’ve swallowed whole kernals of corn. But that is a hell of an image.

Spit-Take Award of the Day.

He doesn’t have to be this stupid. He just chooses to be:

The incredibly impressive part is that there’s absolutely a chance he could do that. But he’d rather lick the boots of politicians that deliberately punish a corporation for having the gall to disagree with them. I feel terrible for his clients.

I’m not sure he actually has any clients. I think the closest he comes to actual clients is watching The People’s Court and never picking the winner.

If he’s a real defense attorney, he’s the Washington Generals of the courtroom.

I thought he was a like, conveyancing and will-making type of lawyer, not a criminal lawyer.

He is really proving himself in the Disney thread to beca full-on bigot.

I often have the urge to block him, but then threads like the Disney one come along.

I really do believe his pearl clutching in that thread is genuine. He is genuinely upset about corporations turning on bigots and taking stances on human rights. That’s not what they’re supposed to do! They’re supposed to be allies in the war against uppity minorities.

What do the conservatives like to talk about? Something about sweet, liberal tears? Something about snowflakes and safe spaces?

I saw he was being a pig-headed idiot ignoring far too many facts, but having only glanced at the thread, can you point to where he was being a bigot? Please note, I’m not challenging you here, I’m very curious though.

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.

You’ve got to take the whole thread in context. He’s pretty good at never saying any one thing that you can point to. He reminds me of the way Mr. Hyde is described in the original novel. The narrator is never quite able to put his finger on it, but everyone who meets him knows that he’s off.

He is not easy to describe. There is something wrong with his appearance; something displeasing, something downright detestable. I never saw a man so disliked, and yet I scarce know why. He must be deformed somewhere; he gives a strong feeling of deformity, although I couldn’t specify the point.

Makes sense and fair enough.

When one of the facts you’re ignoring is that the law prevents you from acknowledging the existence of gay and lesbian people, then yes that’s bigotry.

Some people are fooled (or pretend to be) by polite and indirect racism and homophobia. Others are not.

Oh, you sweet summer child.

Nope. Defense Attorney. He has been on this site more than once trying to figure out how to discredit the abused woman whose husband is on trial, or whatever his latest trial was.

Just curious, what state are her toenails in?

Probably the biggest tell is how he only cares about this particular bigoted law, and not all the other political actions Disney has taken. Combine that with him complaining about them being “woke” and being upset that his money goes to support a company that might dare take a pro-LGBT stance, and it’s pretty clear why he is arguing the way he is. Especially with his history.

Plus the guy is adept at following the letter of the rules. Remember his trans pregnancy thread? It was fairly obvious the positions of his “friends” and “fellow conservatives” were about him. He knew he couldn’t come out and say what he believes about trans people. Yet none of his responses are consistent with someone who accepts the existence and rights of trans people but doesn’t understand why trans men would want to get pregnant.

He is a very disingenuous poster. I genuinely don’t know why he’s not gotten that final Warning for trolling and been kicked out.
