I wouldn’t be that surprised if it were true, people that study economics and business tend to be selfish pricks obviously.

Humanity is an amoeba. No part of the goo is more important or relevant than another. We are all equally meaningless. Some get to hang out in the soft squishy center and others are grated against the rocks, but none of us have any say in where the blob goes. Life is a stage.

Then again, maybe people are mad enough to elect someone like Gingrich, I won’t say he’s Hitler, Hitler had charisma, but he may reflect enough of the angst of people to get there. Still I doubt the heck out of it, guy is a bridge troll and hey how good is this ad during christmas?, “Don’t be a Gingrich. Keep taxes low for hard working Americans.”

Because, in the face of the biggest world economic disaster in the last seventy years, the Republican Party not only has no serious answer to the meltdown, they also don’t even seem to care about it. More often than not, it seems like this is a party for which THE ONLY issue is the subjugation of homosexuals. A single-issue party devoted to oppressing a minority group is an evil thing, without meaningful precedent in the post-Civil War American political mainstream. Even in the worst days of George Wallace, the national Democratic Party was not single-mindedly devoted to the notion that the subjugation of blacks could and should continue forever. The Nazi comparison is more than apt–the range of problems which Republicans blame on this minority group, the obvious view of them as subhuman, and the fact that Republican debate audiences literally cheer the concept of death, brings to mind nothing more than Nazi attitudes towards Jews and accompanying nihilistic death-worship. If this is not evil, what is?

Republicans want people to die on the streets, in prisons, on battlefields in foreign countries, pretty much everywhere. For a party that claims to be “pro-life” they sure do resemble, to all external appearances, a death cult.

Look man, it’s NOT acceptable to be against abortion or gay rights. Those are inhuman, anti-life positions. That there is actually a “debate” in our country about whether or not women should be punished for having sex or certain people should get the same rights as other people is a sign of our own moral sickness, not that people who hold the evil positions on these matters are somehow worthy of consideration as ethical people.

But I cannot for the life of me work out why you’re upset about this quote:

Condesending Robot I don’t know. But you’re claiming Untoward Parable is a Leftist? Say what you will about Der Trihs, nobody has ever accused him of political apathy. Untoward Parable is claiming that all politics is meaningless, left and right, up and down. Untoward Parable is mocking the protesters at Occupy Wall Street for thinking they can change anything (and he’s mocking Tea Party protestors for the same reason).

Qin, you need to develop some depth to your politics. You shouldn’t pretend that there are only two sides - yours and everyone else’s - and that everyone who doesn’t agree with you must all be on the same side. It’s the same mistake I’ve seen you make in your religious posts.
