For those of you who weren’t so sure if Pixar would hit another one out of the park, making their judgement on the teaser trailers seen so far, there’s a new trailer out at Moviefone that showcases the actual storyline and character beats a bit better. Maybe this will change your mind.
Or maybe not. It at least looks pretty.
Personally I have been confident it will be a great movie like all their others, and this trailer just reconfirms it. Can’t wait to see it!
After i watched the first trailer I was convinced it would suck. After this trailer, I’m starting to come around…there appears to be some assemblance of a plot which is nice. They also seemed to make some pretty good choices as far as voices are concerned.
I’m hit and miss with Pixar so we’ll see how it goes. It’s looking up though.
There was a good article in USA Today today about the movie. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but seeing all the characters, it seems like an interesting premise. The film’s official website is shaping up nicely, too- over the course of the next few months, a new car will be introduced each week.
My take on seeing the first trailers was that this would be a Chevron commercial made into a full-length movie. This new trailer looks like it may not be that bad.
Dunno. It may have been a mistake to render the cars as realistically as they have, as they don’t seem to have as much personality as characters in other Pixar flicks. But that’s just judging from the trailer.
A bunch of snarky, irreverant gags and visual puns, delivered by stylized art and funny voice-over work all at a frenetic, whip-lash pace.
I’m a Madagascar fan.
Hey, this trailer just made me notice something about Madagascar - no tacked on romantic plot!
I think that was Disney. They did a series of shorts about anthropomorphasized vehicles, including one about a blue coupe that I can remember off the top of my head (and I don’t recall any WB short about talking cars. MGM did one about planes, and there was an “Animaniacs” short about trailers). Anyway, Pixar’s characters look exactly like the characters in those old Disney cartoons.
Before that movie, I would have never even known that stylized animation in 3D would have been possible. I guess CGI IS ready to overtake cell animation entirely.
