PJD strikes again in the MMP

That’s right folks, it’s the second in an occasional series of pjd created MMPs.
It’s currently what can only be described as grey here in the good old UK.
Temperature appears to be about n C (or about x F).
Just putting all the clocks right following a 4 hour power outage last night
(20:18 - 00:15 approx). Couldn’t watch the snooker :frowning:
Over.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 8c/47f with a predicted high of 9c/49f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “I am completely over this fucking so-so day.”

We have a couple of errands to do today as we’re at ‘im indoors’ mum’s place. She had a fall and can’t drive with a bruised knee, and his sister has a nasty cold so she’s at home in bed.

Off home tomorrow!

Pretty grey here, too, and looks like it will still be grey after the sun is up, which Google tells me will be in twenty minutes. I have long been of the opinion that sunrise is something that should be seen on TV or read about in books, not experienced in person.

Hey there mmpers, I’m at my desk super early twiddling my thumbs off the clock. Just dropped off eldest at the train station to return to the windiest of cities. Too far a drive to go back home, I’m the only soul in the building, right now. Gotta cuppa, wish there was a couch somewhere.:yawning_face:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 65 and cloudy with rain this evenin’ and all day tomorrow. No big items on today’s agenda. A few tasks need doin’, but other than that we shall be RDOS sloths as is our wont. Sup will be grilled poke chops, green beans, cheesey broccoli rice from a box (don’t judge!), and rolls. Borin’ but it is sustenance.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Today is starting juuuuuuust above freezing (33 Ferrets) on the way to mid-40s and sunny. I’ll be going to the marina with FCD this morning to return the stanchions and the bow pulpit (it was a tad out of kilter probably due to a collision with a piling somewhere in its history.) I’ll try to get some pics of the installed swim platform.

If I get ambitious enough, I’ll venture into the yard to gather some of the detritus that Otis has scattered. It’ll be a challenge among the leaves. I also need to do something about the firewood - he’s chewed up the plastic sheeting that covered the pile that isn’t under the porch. I’m thinking I should move as much as I can under the porch before the next rain (tomorrow.) We’ll see how all that goes.

For the moment, tho, it’s a bit of surfing before it all begins.

Happy Moanday!!

According to Elton John,

“On the big screen they showed us the sun
But not as bright in life as the real one”

I’ll have been in the office for half an hour before thst lazy old sun gets up (projected at 8:37 local time). Currently -17C with a projected high of -8.

Not much going on. Working on a new brief today, after filing the other one on Friday. Lots of paperwork at home.

Morning all. Up about 6:30am so ready to try and get back to a normal routine here. Have done the December check-out of my banking on-line and it looks OK, need to check on my hotel bill, it doesn’t seem to equal what hotels.com/expedia were charging (it’s in my favor, which is what makes me suspicious) but otherwise all is well financial-wise. Will do shop-n-sammich in a few hours and probably try to get back to the gym routine but otherwise I think I’ll just continue recovering from the trip; for some reason the drive home took more out of me than the drive up. Cool outside but due to get to near 50F today, but rain is expected this afternoon and will last (according to the Weather Wizards) well into the night and early hours of 2sday. Well, at least it won’t be snow…

pjd, no power outage here but the overhead light in my living/great room seems to be out, all the other lights are working but neither switch seems to turn it on, so I’ll get the ladder out and change the bulbs here in a bit and see if that helps.

Herald, I’m usually up nearly with the sun, but I do let it get a start on the day before I rise. Like you, not much sun to be seen today and less if the rain sets in.

chela, I used to get in early too and was often the 1st/2nd person in the office. Quiet time it is.

And that’s all for now, have a great week all.

Good Monday morning, folkses! I’m mostly asleep, waiting for the coffee maker to finish. Okay, now I have coffee. The cheerful radio voice tells me it’s 13 degrees F out there. We got some more snow.

My computer is excited about “Cyber Monday.” Initially, that day meant that people without computers at home could have a frenzy of online shopping when they got back to work after the Thanksgiving break. Now, though, everybody with a phone in their pocket can do all that from anywhere, without waiting for CM. Perhaps, this means working folks will do more actual work instead of shopping. I wouldn’t count on it, though.

Turns out FCD didn’t want to wait for me to shower and dress - he headed to the marina as I sat in my fuzzy robe. I am now clean and dressed for the day, with no place to go - woe is me!

No Cyber Monday shopping plans for me. I’ve ordered a few books for the grands and they’re on the way. We’re giving their parents a check for a family mini-vacation at Great Wolf Lodge. And if someone else picks up the duties of game-planning for our goofy gift exchange, we’ll need to get stuff for that. Otherwise, shopping is done.

I think I’ll cook up some shrimp and make shrimp salad - I got some on sale at Food Lion and they’re calling to me. Off to the kitchen.

Here I wondered what new condition pjd was.
Past juveniles dopers?
Got up a minute ago; will report back.

7F in the Twinned Cities this morning. I do need to go out to get some adhesive for a couple of broken ornaments, so I’ll suck it up and be a Brave Little Soldier, facing certain death to get to the hardware store.

Croissants this morning with some form of eggs and fruit.

The niece comes for a visit tomorrow, so we’ll likely go out for lunch somewhere.

I make a pretty killer shrimp/pasta salad, but I use canned shrimp. If I’m feeling generous, I top it with a few cooked shrimp.

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!

Good morning!

It’s 34°F, dark and cloudy outside. There is a chance of mixed rain and snow showers for the next hour or so, but the day will be mostly cloudy, with daytime temperatures topping out at 44°F.

I miss that morning quiet time at the office. I was always the first one in, and it was nice just to have a bit of solitude and time to ease into the day since I wasn’t officially on the clock. All the same, I usually dug right into the work. I left my house at four, was the first customer at Haggen grocery store, where I stopped for my morning yogurt and treats for the office, and would be in the office by 5:10 or 5:15 at the latest. It’s a weird thing to miss since I’m now a RDOS, but there you have it.

FCM, I saw your blurred post last night. I hope your mother does sit your sister down, but somehow, I don’t think much will change. I hope I’m wrong.

I’m thinking of dragging out the decorations today. But that’ll be pretty much the extent of my plans.

Alright, on with the day! Take care of yourselves and stay warm!

PT and OT have both been here for assessment and we’ll be working on getting my butt moving today. I’ll call Sis to have her bring Nelson in for a visit this afternoon. Onward!

Oh hi.

It’s cold today, currently 24 fahrvergnügen (-4 or so centipedes). We had snow a couple of days ago and expecting a bit more today.

I skipped last week’s MMP, so a Thanksgiving recap: Thursday we went to my wife’s grandmother’s place (she’s 95 and still living on her own). Yesterday we hosted the other side of the family at our place. Both events calm and pleasant..

This week is a bit of a whirlwind. Last week of classes, and rehearsals every evening. Concert this weekend at the cathedral.

Now I should eat breakfast.

No, Present Juvenile Dopers !

Can’t tell yet about weather, since it’s still an hour until sunrise. Prediction is for mostly cloudy.

Miss Still-needs-a-name did not have the orange cat brain cell this morning (I suspect a kitten’s head is not a hospitable environment for it, based on other kittens I’ve known). She INSISTED on dashing out past me when I opened the door to go put out some outgoing mail. She’ll be back, so I’m not actually worried, but it’s about 45F right now (7C), which I think is a bit cold for a small kitty to be out in.

And Her Ditziness is back in. Buddy just looked at me like “are you SURE we really need her?”
