Yeah, I’ve got shit to do, and you can’t do anything zoned out on opioids. I even side-eye Indica if its too early in the day.
I like that and have adopted something similar, but mine is Just one room. Go in and tidy up (we keep things put away, but pillows and blankets need to be straightened and toys tossed in their toy box), dust, sweep and mop. Fifteen or twenty minutes and I’m done.
A week or so ago, I cut a thick zip-tie off something and Jolene asked for it. That bit of trash turned into her favorite toy in the world and it travels from one side of the house to the other at least daily.
That sounds like a very sound policy. Despite being a floozy, I also have certain standards and can agree with that one.
This one’s FAST! I can see whole linear inches in just one day!
TBH, it allows me to hyperfocus on something and use both hands while shutting everything else out. There’s no room in my mind for fretting over the state of the world while I’m in my stitching trance, if I lose count I’ll make visible mistakes and have to go back and take everything apart again.
As much as I love talking needlepoint and all the finer details with other stitchers, it would be a very boring world if that was all that anyone else did.
And filled with Nelson smooches! Do you get dizzy if you sit up too fast or are your muscles just too weak from lack of exercise? Whatever it is, I hope your PT goes well and has fast results.
Jolene isn’t what I’d call food motivated either. She wants to see and smell it, she doesn’t usually want to eat it. She didn’t want the treats under the cup, she just wanted to be sure that they were still what she saw me put there.
We got a little bit of snow this morning, but it has all melted off as well. Currently it is snowing but its not sticking and probably won’t.
The poor thing lost at least half its leaves when I brought it in so now it is so “fragile” that I don’t want to mess with it. The flower bud is facing the window. I’d like to turn the tree around so I can admire the bud while I’m stitching, but I’m afraid that would disturb its equilibrium.
It is hard to take my hands off his fur, it is so soft and slick. He’s not prone to mats like many double coated critters so brushings are enjoyable, not a hair-pulling battle.
I can tell the new drivers. We have our address posted in large numbers and in several places AND Hubs put some fake sunflowers on the ends of the fence to help folks see where it is and how much room there is. Yesterday’s delivery guy parked in the across the street neighbor’s driveway and walked across the highway, up our driveway and instead of leaving the package on our front porch, took the extra steps to put it by the door under the carport.
Once again I was planning on going out and doing things today, but the call of needle and thread is just too strong. I’m in the mood to zone out over borders and there is plenty of border work on my big piece. If it does start snowing, I’ll bake some cookies.
