PJD strikes again in the MMP

Coincidentally, I have that on my to-do list for today. Not much left up top and 4-5 visits a year is all I need, but best to enter the Xmas and New Year season looking good.

I imagine a lot of us have a drawer like that; mine are ‘out of sight, out of mind’ so I guess they can stay that way awhile longer.

And slept in until 9am again, combination of exercise and long meeting made me tired and the heavyweight comforter is just so warm and cozy… 30F now going to 46F and no rain expected, so as I noted above need to get my hair cut and work on my Firday shopping list, but otherwise should be a calmer day.

Sticky Buns, hope you get your referral soon and don’t worry, the gift will be appreciated.

Knots, leg cramps are the worst.

Cookie, hope you have water soon. I need to check out my Great Room light, it is not coming on (every other light works) and hopefully it is a quick fix. We’ll see.

Sensei, hope SenGirl feels better soon and I start coaching and refereeing Futsal (recreational) this weekend, so hang in there.

And being I was so late rising, it’s time for first meal (soup -n- sammich) so off to the kitchen I go. Have a good Hump Day all.

It was. Thank you. I should start regular sessions next month. Just saying some things aloud for the first time was liberating in and of itself.

Right now, I’m sitting in the exam room at the Rumatologist. He’s running about 40 minutes behind, but he’s apparently one of the top Rumatologists in the country. Why the Rumatologist? To paraphrase Dr. Heinz Dufenschmertz, D.E.S.:

If I had a nickel for every time I’ve gotten a false positive for lupus, I’d have two nickels! Which isn’t a lot, bit it’s weird that it happened twice.

Hello fellow mumpkins.

Yesterday was long as expected. Home late, to bed late, didn’t sleep in as long as I hoped.

Getting stuff done around the house today. Have to go shopping. Rehearsal tonight, quick will probably be stressful because of Monday’s cancellation.

Not much else going on in the fachverhousehold.

96k sort today. The one car I was loading had close to 400 packages. And the load charts were off because of the early start. Noting like planning on 5 packages for a stop and getting 30. Apparently we had some corporate poohbahs there, but I didn’t see any of 'em. I guess they don’t want to deal with sweaty peasants.

Feel better, Sticky!

Speaking of gas station food, they turned an old Shell station into a “BBQ” joint

No, leg cramps in a waterbed are worse. Because cramps plus seasickness.

Rheumatologist? Although a Rumatologist would mix you a Mai Tai, that that would be more fun. :tropical_drink:

I made the mistake of going out to run a couple of errands. Got to the grocery okay and even found what I was looking for, then had to stop at the hardware store to get some glue to repair a couple of ornaments. They have apparently changed their parking lot so that you are only supposed to enter off the main drag and then exit via the rear alleyway. I didn’t know that, so was attempting to get back out on the main drag just as someone was attempting to get into the lot. According to him, I am a “dumb-ass” who should go fuck myself. Well, merry Xmas to you too, sir! I was able to fix two of the ornaments, so Santa’s wooden head is back with his body, and Melchior’s clay head is reattached. The ceramic clay donkey in the manger, however, is going to have to get along with only one ear from now on; too little surface area to make a good bond.

I didn’t think that was right, but the spell check was okay with it.

Succeeded in going to the gym. My personal trainer is going to leave there at the end of April to go traveling with her already retired spouse. And the gym, which is mainly a physical therapy place, is concentrating on their physical therapy patients and telling the gym people that they can only go there during the day. When I work. So it looks like I’ll be looking for a new gym in May.

Somewhat bummed, but fortunately a new gym opened up nearby that is open 24/7 and is women only. They just opened and are not yet able to submit paperwork for insurance reimbursement. They expect to be able to do that early next year.

Got up and went to OT for a bit and am now getting ready to go back to bed. Not as hard as yesterday, but still takes a lot out of me.

Today is my sister’s birthday and my daughter’s birthday, so feel free to hoist a glass in their honor…unless you’re driving…or performing brain surgery…or trying to fit one of those teeny screws in your glasses frame. Every year on their birthday eve, I’d say “Good night, [current age]-year-old,” and the next morning, “Good morning [new age].” My daughter beat me to it this year.

And since I’m not going to get any grandkids, I pass along this hint for those with little ones in their lives. Kids usually hate going to bed on their birthdays because they don’t want the fun to end, so I’d always leave one little wrapped gift on their pillows. They could only open it after climbing into bed after brushing their teeth, etc. Often it was a new book to read for a bedtime story or a little stuffed animal to cuddle. Worked like a charm.

I have no plans for the rest of today other than going for a long walk.

How many times do I have to tell you to ALWAYS wear your crown to work? Then you can be a sweaty royal and order others to curtsy when they address you. You can also address a blueberry as “knave.”

That’s because having corrected a squillion misspelled words, Spellcheck spends most of its time at the local watering hole, third barstool from the right. You can guess what it’s drinking.

I can imagine. Glad you’re resting up!

sticky, I’m sorry you’re under the weather. Your job sounds incredibly stressful. Six IEPs? My neurons would faint.

Howdy Y’all! We procured and stowed provisions and et nummy fried chikin lunches. The Pubic Sto’ makes good fried chikin. Nappage was sorely needed. It’s cool out but we sat out on the back porch and had beerverages. Beerverages on the back porch whilst dressed in jammy pants, Tshirts, fuzzy robes and slippers is the height of RDOS sloth. Now it’s time to watch sump’n mindless whilst laid back in recliners. Our lives are stressful, but we persevere.

I notice that with a lot of things, being vintage myself and all that. Things that would barely have been noticed when I was in my 20s tend to linger to taunt me now. It just ain’t fair, is it??

Our new tablets arrived and are being set up - at least mine is. FCD’s is done. I transferred all the stuff from my old one to the new one and it’s taking a little time. The new one is exactly the same size outside, but has a bigger brain within. Ain’t technology grand?? Daughter will get my old one after I do a factory reset. She’ll also have to get her own SD card because I kept mine.

We went to lunch at a new place - new to us and relatively new to Lex Park. It was pretty good, and lunch for 2 for under $30 including tip is definitely nice. I’m sure we’ll go back.

I painted the white panels in the doors - we’ll see tomorrow if they need a second coat. That’s about all I accomplished. Tonight is for chillage.

Howdy. Just walked an hour at 3.5mph with a 10-degree elevation and according to the treadmill computer I burned 801 calories, so sitting
and resting a spell before working the weights.

Hair has been trimmed and spent an hour at the library working on the NY Times Mega Crossword. This is one they publish once a year and takes up two full pages with another page devoted to the clues…about 800-900 of them. Not mind-blowing difficult but just the scope of it keeps me going for a couple of weeks.

And guess I’m ready to muscle up with the weightlifting stuff. Catch up with you all later.

I had a couple of jalapeño-and-cheddar pepperoni sticks, and a sharp cheddar sandwich with mayo and Colman’s mustard.

Happy birthday SisterBly and Daughter Bly!

That was strange. Quite possibly one of the least professional medical types was just here for ultra sounds of my lower legs. No leaving a door open, bringing another person in the room. Given the vulnerability of the patients here, it looks like he’d have some sort of awareness of optics. Oh, well, the nice nurse and tech were just here with the good drugs.

Home and chillin’…well, actually quite warm with the room heater on, all the chillin’ is outside where it is 33F. I didn’t have a Cheeburger in the freezer so the Burger King took care of my needs tonight, along with a mini-apple pie and an apple, so belly is back on speaking terms with me.

Maus, glad the session was helpful, hope the Rheumatologist was just as helpful.

Cookie, if they didn’t post the signs showing the entrance/exit, you have nothing to apologize for.

Dicey, you’d love it here, there is 4-5 gyms within a 10-minute drive of my house, hope the new place meets your expectations.

red, keep working on it, you’ll grow stronger. And yeah, that would bother me too.

Nellie, happy B-Day to the nellie-family. And I don’t have kids either, but that’s a pretty good idea there.

{{{Sticky Buns}}}

FCM, I have a tablet but almost never use it, between my cellphone and the desktop (and laptop on travel) I just can’t identify a need.

And that’s all for now, need to catch up on my internettin’ but will check back in later.

I think the neighbor sons built a cat house for Brian. At least I hope it was the sons, and not the dad. It has a bit of Charlie Brown Christmas feel to it, a bit …ramshackle. But nevertheless, cool.

Buddy and Miss To-be-named-soon are actually on “cuddle for a nap” terms.

Hullo, all.

Boo fae, glad your trip has come to a successful and safe conclusion. I think your plan to take some sick leave is a sound one. I always thought, “Sick ‘a workin’,” was a dandy basis for a day off!

Stay warm, Piper!

red, progress! Go, you! And I’m so glad you got some Nelson Time!

doggio, a brilliant rendition, even if it was my ear worm for the day. Please always keep 'em coming.

Seriously, GG and Ollie have a common ancestor. Great story – thanks for sharing it! I laughed a lot and cried a little. They can’t help it if they are the butter spreaders of the knife world. I do think Ollie would pass the cup test, though, if only by accident. Pushiest nose in the West.

Jolene, though… I’d keep an eye on that one. (I know you do!)

What’s the lemon tree doing now? Don’t give up on it – well, unless the branches just break off in your hands. :grimacing:

And as ever, your stitching is just amazing. I love that you enjoy it so much!

Lily, enjoy your down time!

Nellie, what a frustrating day for you on Monday! Good that yesterday with Max was better. Max’s person’s situation sounds scary, but as you say, at least she has a thorough doctor.

Sticky Buns, good for you for pursuing answers for your not feeling right. Too many people ignore these things and just hope they will get better. I hope you were able to finish your first IEP as you intended.

knots, may the leg cramps be a one off. One word: Bananas.

sensai, I admire how much you do for your wife and children. Glad SenGirl is doing better.

metal mouse – drawer? I have a whole room like that. Glad you enjoyed your lie-in. What’s the use of being an RDOS if you can’t do that? And that Mega Crossword scares me!

Pavo, hope the rehearsal goes well and isn’t as stressful as you fear it may be.

dicey, I hope the new gym is to your liking. Hard to lose a place that feels like home, though.

Perfect.

Van Gogh, that’s heartwarming news about Brian. You have good neighbors.

A new week, and I’m so late! Every day has been busy but with little to show for it. I’ve been working with clients to get ready for 2026, and that’s about it.

We’ve had cold, foggy overnight weather, so I was back to heating with wood since Sunday night. I finally turned on the old heat pump again this morning. Honestly, I prefer heating with wood, if only I could bribe entice some twinkly little elf to move the wood from place to place. Haven’t clocked one of those around here, though. Rats.

Chicken soup is made and frozen for another day from the Thanksgiving carcass, I made some lovely cranberry oat pecan muffins on Monday from the leftover cranberry sauce, and today I had a yen for Minestrone soup, so that’s simmering away on the stove for supper. The freezers are loaded – no need for me to cook much over the next month or so! Good thing I love soup.

Ollie’s nails are trimmed and his butt glands squeezed. I can tackle neither of these tasks on my own with Mr. Wigglesworth, so Tuesday was the kennel for nail trimming and today was the vet for the other stuff. The good news is, my aggressive efforts to ameliorate his anal gland issues – lots and lots of fiber – appear to be working! These procedures may soon be just an unpleasant memory for us both. Fingers tightly crossed.

Tomorrow is a quiet day. I’ll take one, please!

I napped. Dinner tonight was a martini, chicken with spaghetti kicked up with [Bobby Flay]Calabrian chilies[/Bobby Flay] and spinach with tomatoes and cheese.

Sounds like half my exes.

Everybody gets a point!

One of Wifey, RN’s patients has entered hospice. (‘Hospice House’, or something like that.) She got a message on her phone that his wife will go there and be with him until the end. She said that he was going to be buried at the Tahoma National Cemetery (for veterans). I thought that sounded familiar, so I looked it up. It’s the same cemetery where my uncle’s (the middle brother’s) cremains were interred. (He was an RD4 in the Navy, which is an E-5).
