Planning breast augmentation surgery.

This spring I intend to have surgery to enhance my barely-there mams from an A-cup to a C, and I wanted to get some advice and tips from anyone here who has already (relatively recently) gone that route.

I’m going to get the newly-approved silicone gel implants, and I’m also having nipple relocation, because currently Patience and Fortitude are a little too walleyed. If anyone here has had a BA recently enough to have silicone implants, I’d especially like to know what your experience was like.

What I’d like to know is how long it took your breasts to “drop” afterward, how soon the swelling went down, and how long I’ll need to wait before I can be measured for the bra size I’m definitely going to have.

I’ve read this thread, but Of Cabbages and Kings never came back to show us pictures or talk about her experience.

And I’ve read this thread, but the posts there seem more within the realm of opinion about breast augmentations than patients’ experiences. I’m not looking for anyone to tell me I shouldn’t have this done; my mind is made up.

:stuck_out_tongue: Do you think you’ll be renaming them?

Sorry I have nothing to contribute.

I would never! They’re named after the stone lions in front of the New York Public Library.

Patience is on the left.

Congratulations, Fiver! I’m the same size you are now, and I’d like to be the same size you’re going to be. For various reasons, I haven’t had the surgery, but I’m interested to hear how it all goes. I hope the new you turns out to be all you’ve ever dreamed of.

My left or your left?

Mine. Why would I orient myself on your left? I don’t even know what direction you’re facing.

Left schmeft… did I ever have your gender confused!

I thought about this surgery for a while - then I got preggers and they never shrunk after, so now it is a non-issue. I may consider a lift if they get low though!

Please let us know how it goes.

Well, I’m in the process of changing it.

I don’t have any experience with the surgery, but C seems like a good size. I’m a DD and that pushes the limits of decency (and the limits of my own back muscles, to be frank.) Congratulations and good luck!

Ok, I haven’t had this myself, but one of my good girlfriends has and here are a couple of the things she mentioned:

  1. She has the saline/silicon type, not the brand spakin’ new ones.

  2. The girls were about where they were going to be within’ about 2 or 3 months.

  3. The size she and her Dr. thought they were going to be is not the size they are. She was an A, asked for a C, wound up with a D, which she’s very pleased about. She’s quite tall and was a competitive swimer so she has the body frame to pull of the D without looking porn-star-ish.

  4. She usually doesn’t wear a bra 'cus they just stay exactly where they are. She’s just gone back to work and has had to buy bras so she won’t offend anyone with her unrestrained boobs, but they don’t really go hogg-wild in the way natural boobs do. I’m about the same size as she is boob-wise and I could NOT come to my office with no bra - it would be way too boob-a-rific.

  5. Over all she’s very pleased with her surgery. She suggested getting a really good surgeon - someone you’re really comfortable with, and doing lots of research before choosing.

  6. When I asked her if she would do it again, she said yes.

Now, just to my own 2 cents - she’s shown me her rack and they look really great. She had them put under the muscle which results in a more natural appearance. She’s super-fit and has very low body fat so before the operation she had no real boobs to speak of - I think they look really great on her, and quite natural based on her body type and shape.

Good luck!

Is that the gummy-bear type? I know those were in the testing/trial stages but does anyone know if they’re those approved yet?

I don’t have any advice to offer but I am also planning to buy myself a pair. I’m currently an A and would like to be a full B or small C. Count me in for wanting to know other doper ladies’ experiences.

You know, we really need more info, to give an informed opinion.

Photos?

Yes, they’ve recently been approved. You can cut a wedge out of them and they won’t ooze or leak. They’re like a wheel of brie.

Two things:

  1. Opal has gel implants. They feel like the gel wrist rests for keyboards (she’s very generous to the curious).

  2. Mine are Pride and Joy. My friend Penny uses Boredom and Nowhere.

  3. Hiya!

Fiver, if you don’t mind my asking, how much does the surgery cost, including the hospital stay? How long will you be in the hospital?

Just wanted to offer the opinion that this guy loves me some perky A cups. Size ain’t everything. Of course, a dandy pair of enhanced C’s aren’t going to be left out in the cold either. So whatever makes you happy, good luck!

Fiver, please please make sure you read about augmentation on breasthealthonline.com. This is absolutely the best site for women who are looking to have any kind of breast surgery. You will find answers to every single question you can possibly think of, doctor recommendations, recovery tips, and what you need to know to make sure your surgery goes well and gives you the results you want.

Please check it out.

I bet you’ll be a real hit at dinner parties…

Then why are you thinking of surgery? Have you given the pills time to work? KellyM has a full B and though they are a teensy bit walleyed, they are lovely and far nicer than any ones I have seen that have been surgically enhanced.
