The only posts I’d noticed from you, IMO, were negative, and, therefore, I decided that you disliked me. Yeah, Homer, I’ll admit my perception of you is still colored by the thread you linked to. Things like that really offend me and I have a hard time letting them go.
I don’t dislike you, though, for anything you’ve said to me or about me. We obviously all say dumb shit in anger–you, me, everyone. Few people here have reached that Zen level of temperament where they can also say the right thing at the right time in the right way. There are only a couple Dopers who can say things to me that I really take personally and that I think are deliberately meant to be mean-spirited; you aren’t one of them.

A LAME analogy. I don’t have much sympathy or empathy for people with low self-esteem who use it as a defense for being an asshole. Being deaf is completely different from having low self-esteem. How would I know? Well, I was never deaf but I had hearing problems throughout elementary school until I was 11, when I had surgury to correct it. So I know what it is like to be a step-behind in school because you can’t here what the teacher is saying, to not understand what being around you are saying and to not be able to communicate with them because of it. And I had low self-esteem thoughout middle and high school, like every adolescent. Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges, AFAICS, speaking from experiance.
Please make an effort to read my posts. If you do, you will see that I never asked you to be informative or important (clearly beyond your means.)
