Years ago, around the mid 80’s I think, I heard this song. I can’t remember the name or who sang it and trying to look up the lyrics on line isn’t helping me any.
I have a feeling it might a country, or one of those country/pop cross over hits (I think it was a hit anyway).
I normally don’t like country music, but if this is country, then this would be an exception.
I’ll start by posting the chorus, and hope I get all the words right
“Come on in, you did the best that you could do. There’s a little bit of right in every wrong, there’s a little bit of me in you.”
And let’s see, there’s only one line I remember clearly
"You husband was a man of passion,
passion stole your husband away.
And your son gave his life for your freedom, but you feel like a prisoner anyway. Sister…<chorus>…
I’m sure that there should be plenty of you who can name this instantly, so, thanks in advance.
Come On In, by the Oak Ridge Boys.
Thank you very much.
You’re welcome.
