Please identify this 'Law and Order' episode

Hi Dopers - please may you use your incredible skills to find this episode.

  1. It involves a brother and step-sister who are romantically involved.
  2. Their parents are murdered (I think for money via inheritance) and the brother did it.
  3. He uses his infatuated step-sister as an alibi.
  4. There is not enough evidence to convict the brother.
  5. However there is a legal proceeding about the inheritance, which hinges on which parent died first.
  6. The prosecutor makes up a fake pathology report (the pathologist is the reliable Ms. Rodgers.)
  7. The fake report works and the step-sister accuses the brother.
  8. The fake report uses ‘Rogers’ (not ‘Rodgers’) as the author.
    Hope that’s enough clues!

Rodgers the pathologist (a fine actress) appears in a huge number of episodes over several of the franchises, which has defeated my Googling skills.
Over to you…

Lucky Stiff?

Lucky Stiff

I concur. Lucky Stiff. I Googled “law & order episode” “rodgers” “rogers”. The parentheses force it to use those exact terms.

That found me a synopsis of the episode at:

I googled brother stepsister “law & order” “died first” — which is, admittedly, less elegant.

That episode is too recent for me to have watched and it’s from 2009. Law & Order has been around a long time…

The RUSSIANS!

(I recognized it right away. I love Rogers without a D giving Cutter shit!)

It’s a deceptive episode - it starts out with “green” delivery trucks that don’t work right, leads to overselling (like the Producers) green credits, and only then gets to the parents’ murders.

Many thanks, Dopers!

(What took you so long? )
