But I do see them on my iPhone (safari). Laptop was on Chrome
I think that is it. Even on Sam’s I can see emojis when toggled over to mobile view on my desktop. In desktop view with the same theme they disappear. The difference between mobile and desktop views seems to layer with the theme differences.
Too bad
I like the vincent theme a lot, but I’m concerned that missing emoji’s might lead to misunderstanings. So Classic it is.
I just checked and they do work under Vincent… if you are in the mobile view. Desktop view does not work.
That change is not in your preferences where the them themes are accessed. If you click on the three stacked lines icon it brings up a window. Mobile view should show up in the bottom section of that window near the link for the FAQ.
I don’t see the mobile option.
Under the three line menu:
I see FAQ at the top
then a section with: latest, unread, groups, cakeday etc.
and then a section with categories: great debates etc.
Nothing that indicates mobile or desktop
It may be because I am running it on a desktop computer browser (firefox) so it doesn’t recognize a mobile device setting.
Thanks for the tip though.
It is available to me on a desktop. I am running Opera though.
Also works for me under Waterfox which should be closer. It is a fork of Firefox from around the point Firefox disabled their old extension model. It is still kept up to date with other FF changes.
shrugs

I just tried a plain emoji in another thread, and that feature seems to be working now?

Seems to be fixed!
And we now have new themes: ‘Straight Dope Light’ and ‘Straight Dope Dark’.
All right! I can’t wait to try them out.
Nice! They’ve done away with most of the blank space on the left side of the screen, which a lot of posters have been complaining about.
