The ads for the movie 28 Days Later are now making a big deal about there being a new, completely different ending to the movie, which shows after the credits on new prints.
I don’t want to spend money to see the same movie again, nor wait for the DVD; I was hoping somebody here had seen the new “alternate” ending and could tell me about it.
Even though I put “spoil” in the thread title, it would probably be best to use a spoiler box. (Think of the children.)

The blood transfusion in the hospital fails and Jim dies. The last shot is of Selena and Hannah picking up their guns and walking away down the hospital corridor
Thanks! Somehow that doesn’t live up to the ad’s promise of an ending that will “haunt you for days”.
It was pretty sad. The normal ending was so much better.
I kept hoping for some twist like
A.)They would leave the hospital and find it surrounded by zombies. No escape.
or
B.) They leave the room, leaving Jim’s corpse on the table, which then slowely gets up and comes after them. It violates what we already know, but it would still have been better then what we saw.
But alas…Not scary in the least. A little sad maybe, but not scary.
I kept hoping something like “ARMY OF DARKNESS” where you had two ending, both very different and both good enough that I can’t decide which is my favorite.
Well I kinda got bummed out to when I read about the alternate ending, and then read what is was… Maybe it’s creepier if you see it in reality, and preferably without the original ending.
Further, I kinda liked the original one - the movie was so dark and bleak, it warranted an upbeat ending I think.
