Please spoil Friends last night for me! (29/04)

Can someone pretty please with a cherry on top post a rundown for me? I had to work and forgot to set the vcr-grrrrrr!

You should have watched it—that would have spoiled it good!

(Do we actually have to wear black, rend our clothing and hire mutes to follow us next week when it goes off the air?)

I don’t know about you but my mutes have been booked for months.

OK, I’ll be nice, I actually watched the darned thing: It was the “Rachel says goodbye to everyone” episode. The only “plot development” was that—surprise!—she and Ross wound up in a wild, passionate kiss at the end.

Will Rachel go to Paris? Will Ross follow her? And what of Marion’s relationship with Mother Marcus?

Also, the girl who is having Monica and Chandler’s baby went into labor at the end.

Other than that, though, as Eve said, a pretty unremarkable episode.

In addition, Monica and Chandler’s surrogate went into labor and they rushed off to the hospital, leaving Phoebe and Joey in charge of packing up the dishes.

Short, non-detailed answer:
Monica & Chandler were packing in preparation to move from the apartment, but before leaving, they decided to give a goodbye party for Rachel who was moving the next day. At the party, Rachel said “goodbye” to each friend individually, except Ross. She went home. Ross followed her, blew up at her about it, and stormed home. She went to Ross’s apartment and said that it hurt too much to say goodbye to him, blah, blah, blah…they start kissing…

Meanwhile, the horribly miscast birth mother went into labor. And Chandler and Monica rushed her to the hospital…

From the TMI dept.: Monica and Ross’s Nana liked bondage.

The whole episode could have been edited down to 11 minutes, without cutting any commercials.

Best line of the evening:

Joey: “(thinking)…I forgot to pick up my dry cleaning.”

Oh and Joey got punched in the head and kneed in the nuts.
That’s just about everything.

The funniest joke was Phoebe’s take on Nana’s fur-lined handcuffs.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I have to work next thursday night too, maybe I should set the vcr now.

Or buy a Tivo. (For the record I have a DVR box from my cable company, which is almost like Tvo but only costs $6.95/month.)

I had forgotten that it was even Thursday (that’s unemployment for you!) until the missus and I came home from dinner around 9:15. No worries - we have Friends programmed to record every first-run episode on Thursdays…

Do you know anyone who recorded it?

My favorite part is, “Oh, Joey seems to be taking it well.”
Then, “NO, JOEY! STOP HIM!”
:stuck_out_tongue:

“You kneed me in my Misters. Soldier down!”

I wish! No tivo in Canada sadly and DVR’s are still really pricey here.

where in Canada are you?

I enjoyed much of the episode, but I have to say, despite the fact that I still really enjoy Friends, I’m just sick of Ross and Rachel. Mainly because the one really big stumble the show has made over the last 3 or 4 years, imho, is that Ross has gone from being a sweet, likable guy to being a shrill shrewish nutbag. He doesn’t deserve Rachel, or any other non-felon, at this point.
Joey and Chandler playing with the bubble wrap was quite funny, though.

I’ve missed a few episodes. Can someone tell me why Rachel is moving? Did she and Ross discuss her taking Emma, or is she just taking her away?
Thanks.

Rachel got fired from her job at Ralph Lauren and was offered a job in Paris with Luis Vuitton (sp?). No, there hasn’t really been much discussion about Emma, which is pretty bad because didn’t Ross throw a fit a few years ago when Carol wanted to move far away with Ben? Oh, Ross did get Rachel’s job at Ralph Lauren back for her (twice) but then encouraged her to go to Paris anyway.
I’ve been pretty disappointed the past two weeks. It just doesn’t feel like “wrapping up a series” material to me. Or maybe that’s the problem: they’ve run out of material. Or perhaps I’m pissed that there have only been about three new episodes in the past four months. Then we got that “top four episodes” crap. Next week’s epi had better be an hour long, because there are a lot of different issues to resolve; for instance:
Ross and Rachel (yawn)
Birth of Monica and Chandler’s baby
Lead-up to “Joey” spin-off?

She got a job with Louis Vuitton in Paris. She interviewed for the position in a restaurant where her boss from Ralph Lauren happened (in convenient sitcom fashion) to be dining. Even though she was understandably fired from RL as a result of her disloyalty, Ross begged the boss (who thinks Ross’s name is “Ron”) to rehire Rachel so that she could stay in New York. After a series of re-signings and resignings, Ross finally realized Rachel really wanted the Louis Vuitton job and said something to the effect of “I won’t stand in your way if that’s your decision.”
