What did everyone thing of the Friends season finale 5/15/2003?

I thought it was GREAT!!!

My husband watched it before I did, and he told me that the ending sucked. So I was happily surprised with the ending!!!

I guess it’s not a spoiler since it was on last night, so JOEY KISSED RACHEL!!! WOOOOO-HOOOOOO!

What do you all think they will do with that kiss next year? I’m hoping they don’t cop out, and have Joey and Rachel decide they don’t like each other “like that”. I’d like to see a relationship between them! Especially if Ross is happy with Charley!

WOO-WOO!

Well, I missed 90% of it, since my power was out - it came back on at the end of the ping-pong thing with Monica playing Phoebe’s scientist fella.

So, if someone wants to give me a rundown of the episode, great. Otherwise, I’ll catch it in reruns.

I am all for Rachel and Joey being together, too. I think they’d make a great couple!

Well, I think since he was hesitant about kissing Charley, that after the kiss, Ross will come to his senses and tell Charley (again) that he really can’t do that to Joey. But since Joey has already kissed Rachel, when Ross inevitably finds out, it will cause tension between the two guys.

I loved the ping pong game. I missed the first half, so what was up with Mon’s hair? And I loved the return of Hank Azaria.

Did I just call her Mon? Kill me now.

She said her hair gets frizzy with humidity, it kept getting bigger and bigger in every scene. haha

I flipped back and forth during commercials of the Lakers/Spurs game. This show, a former fave of mine, has gotten unwatchable. It is SO bad that it is insulting to the great seasons 'round the turn of the century!

I was disappointed that they didn’t end it yesterday for good. I may have garnered the stomach to watch the last few episodes.

This show is no better than Good Morning, Miami now

Well, I still love the show! I think it’s hilarious!

The ending was what I’d expected, but the scene with Joey, Rachel and the name tags made it worth sitting through a 65-minute episode.

Overall, it was better this year than it had been in the past several years, but I think last night would have made a good ending. It’s sad when a good show doesn’t know when to quit.

I saw the part where Joey kissed Rachel, then I realized it was cutting into CSI, so I flipped to CBS.

Anything else happen after that?

I thought Phoebe treated David terribly. This is a guy she’s been in love with for years, and she’s hung up on some guy who didn’t want to marry her.

But, David turned out to have no balls, so I guess she’s better off with Mike.

I have hung onto this show for longer than most people, but last night’s episode was an “eh” for me. All I kept thinking about was “Who’s watching Emma while Rachel is trolling for sex in Barbados?”

I assumed Ross’ mom was watching Emma. That’s usually who they ask to baby-sit. Plus, I think she still has a nanny.

I thought it was kind of mean to David too, BUT I think David is pretty annoying, and never really saw the attraction there, anyway. And Mike is nice.

Gosh, I take this too seriously. Oh well. Everybody needs a guilty pleasure or two!

Not bad, it had some nice moments. Now that Survivor is done till fall, I will watch the other episodes in reruns to catch back up.

NBC Kill Friends ALREADY!!! - I thought it sucked, I tried watching, I use to watch, but have given up - because of the Suckiness of it.

I think that Joey doing Rachel out of spite was terrible (I think I’m the last remaining person who thinks Ross and Rachel should get and stay together). Now all Rachel needs to do is sneak into bed with Chandler to hit the trifecta.

What Phoebe did to David was totally unforgivable.

I laughed when Charley told Ross “You know who.” and Ross said “I think I do, but I’ve been soooo wrong before.”

How long do you think this black Friend is gonna last? Not for long, I don’t think. This gives me hope for the Ross/Rachel hook-up.

Joey is really, really stupid. Heehee.

Yes, yes-- I know. Here’s the complete list so we can get on with the thread. [ol][li]I never liked Friends.[]Used to like Friends, but now it sucks.[]Friends was never funny.[]Friends is bad TV at its worst.[]Friends should have been cancelled after the first (second, third. . . pick one) season. All the Friends are ugly, fat, skinny or in some way unattractive.[/ol][/li]
I hope I’ve hit all the highlights. Now back to discussing the final episode.

You’re not.

Actually, I hope she last for a while. I think Aisha Tyler is funny and I could look at her all day. Yowza!

I had a lot of trouble with the idea that Ross would not have several backups of his speech, both paper and diskette. And would Chandler really open such an obvious virus, even with the promise of porn?

And Rachel, who works in fashion, giggling when she heard “homo”?

Had some funny moments, but didn’t quite work for me. Plus, I like David, and have never understood why Phoebe should be so hung up on Mike.

Charley is great, though.

Does anybody else think the only funny Friends left are Joey and Rachel? Ross has gotten too dorky, Monica has gotten to psycho, Chandler has gotten to wimpy, and Phoebe has gotten too serious.

R, M, and C have all become charicatures of themeselves, and Phoebe isn’t the flighty free-spirit she once was.

But Joey and Rachel are IMO funnier than ever. These two could spin off this show and carry their own. In fact I wish that’s what was happening. Cancel “Friends” (or “Lovers,” as it could very easily be renamed), and launch “Joey and Rachel.”

Happy

I loved this episode. Especially Monica’s hair…too funny. I laughed out loud several times, but I think my favorite was this one:

I feel dumb even asking this. I’ve never seen a single Friends, and happened to catch the last 10 minutes of this episode yesterday. For some reason, I assumed the show was a comedy, like Taxi for the 90s. But what I saw was more like a soap opera. Was that typical for the show?
