Please turn my sig line off!

I know this is going to get lost in all the subscription threads, but can’t we have signatures turned off by default? It’ll make the hamsters job a lot easier.

I think they did the same thing I’ve done several times when modifying code. I always work on a backup copy of a script so if I screw things up, I still have the pristine original to fall back on. However, sometimes I’ll forget to update my backup copy so that past modifications don’t get included in the new version. Oops!

I’m sure they’ll get around to fixing that again, once all the subscription bugs are ironed out.

I’m pretty sure they said they’d changed it deliberatly as a perk for charter members. Personally, I like having the box already checked.

Is there somewhere where a member could turn that particular setting off? I know in theory it’s not that big a deal to uncheck a box, but I’m so used to not having to think about it that I rarely remember. And at least on my 'puter I have to scroll down to find the box, whereas I’m used to just hitting return to enter my reply.

After the vBulletin 3 upgrade, I went to the User CP and edited my signature to be blank. Thereafter I have not had to worry about unchecking the “include signature in reply” box. If I want to append a witty adage to my post, I can do that at the time of posting, rather than futzing around in the User CP. It’s not an elegant solution, but it works for my purposes.
