I really don’t see us having a draft solution to the problem this early in the show. Plus, I would be shocked if others hadn’t already died and been revived somewhere in the world. Especially given the mayhem that followed (1) the original infection(s) and (2) the pair of Carol-induced seizures.
I’m starting to think the show’s long term dynamic could be a frustrated Carol making actual progress, in fits and starts, to figuring out a way to at least separate individuals from the hive, while the hive, in a smiling, friendly, and good-natured way, gently tries to sabotage her efforts. This could lead to a lot of amusingly tense scenes in which the viewer is worried that the hive might find Carol’s latest experiment and gently disrupt it.
The Spectator (which I don’t subscribe to bypass the paywall) says the show is “a mess”. So was the first and fifth act of “King Lear” yet they’d have walked out sometime in the second.
I had only heard that VG had the scope sorted out as two seasons. Yet Aaron Paul and Bob Odenkirk were not supposed to have much of a role in BB.
I can’t really see how he’ll keep it a character show without some sciencey-stuff yet I’m good with 3-4 seasons if he remains show-runner.
Maybe turca does not mean much in Spanish… but these things are country dependent. I’m willing to believe if it means nothing to an Argentino it likely means nothing to someone from Paraguay. And “yo es turca” and “yo soy turca” are different, as pointed out. But “Carol es turca” as a form of “Carol está en una turca”¿?
turca
In Spanish slang, ‘turca’ is often used to refer to a persistent obsession or an activity someone is deeply engrossed in. It can also refer to a heavy drinking session (meter una turca).
Examples
Spanish: Estoy en una turca de leer libros de misterio.
It’s certainly possible that’s where they are heading, but it seems if it was that easy there would be a lot more people who weren’t part of the hivemind.
You’re not thinking of this correctly. There is no longer a “self” to any of these people. They are just cells that support a mind, specifically the hive mind. E. G. you really don’t care if a cell of your left toenail is happy, or what it does. Its just… there, serving its function. These bodies mean NOTHING. They serve to maintain the hive mind.
There’s no such thing as individuals any more, except for the 13. And I’m 99.99% certain there’s no way to get an individual back again. Once you add a drop of water to a bucket, there’s literally no way to get back the individual molecules that made up that drop.
I know this is from a few days ago but really? Middle-aged lesbians are exactly the people I’d think would have GG on DVD. I mean, Carol isn’t the sort of person we would think would be writing bodice-rippers either but there she is. Helen seems pretty cool and fun, I think Carol turned sour as she got older. GG is also a good post-party-comedown show. I can see the pair having it on DVD to chill out to.
Who DO you think would have Golden Girls on DVD? Like, someone less uptight? I think GG has a favorite character for everyone!
My guess is that releasing the episode on Wednesday (or really Tuesday evening) is a one-time thing because of the holiday but that is the same time when episodes of other shows are released.
Oh wow! It’s such a popular show. Surprised you don’t know anyone who likes it. My friends and I love it! I used to watch it every day with my business partner and he’s a dude 10 years my senior.
