Pluribus (New Vince Gilligan show on AppleTV)

They did get out of dodge pretty quickly. I’m guessing only a few hours pass between the end of the previous episode and everyone leaving ABQ.

I don’t think are trying to hide what they’re up to.

The hive mind has no imagination and no purpose other than their purpose of propagating themselves. Of course they wouldn’t cover their tracks. I would imagine their only goals are to absorb the thirteen immune and to send the same formula signal Earth received back into Space so they can create a new entity.

That’s the horror of the situation. It reminds me of Brave New World (maybe someone else made this same point. I admittedly did not read the thread). A world where it you describe it to someone it would be easy to question why it is so bad but everything that makes humanity worthwhile has been wrung out of it.

I also think what she found are bodies. I am thinking the people incubate the virus and then when they die they are ground up to boost the amounts of virus in the others. If someone stops drinking the fluid the amount of Virus in their body disipates and they disengage from the hive.

Maybe that is too pat a solution but that is my theory for now.

I don’t think consuming the corpses has anything to do with the virus. It’s just a food source.

“It’s people!” is not only too obvious and pat; it also doesn’t make sense to be a thing she discovers under a tarp in a food cold storage room. That process feeding that many would be an assembly line industrial production.

If it is just food why would it be in the form of a weird alien drink? It has to be more than that.

Maybe they’ve rebooted Tang?

Eating dead people seems way too obvious, but also like literally the only thing that makes sense.

Except that building was an industrial production facility; that was the source of the dog food she found in Sprouts.

But it was a tarp covering a thing apparently on a shelf. Not opening a door to see industrial scale stacks of something.

That’s over thinking it a bit too much, it was a food storage area in a food making industrial facility. The clear implication was that it’s where they store the ingredients for their milk juice.

I watched the credits, looking to see if the music during the stone-laying was an instrumental of Van Morrison’s, “Into the Mystic”. Apparently, not - all Dave Porter.

And:
This show was made by humans

“…we’re gonna need a little space”. (Is that still the voice of Taffler, undersecretary with a suit?)

Yes, 9+ days of space till the next episode. Thanks iiandyiiii for the spoiler, as until I saw other posts, I didn’t know there was an episode today.

Yet yeah, “The horror, the horror!” - is not (IMO) jumping to conclusions that they’re somehow processing people to make their powdery crud. How does one choose their favorite flavor of human-ingredient milk drink, fortified with vitamin D?

So, dunno if those are Amazon drones or what, yet wouldn’t the greatest pilot of such a thing know better than to slam into a streetlight? Maybe it was too 'evvy.

I did not know that hungry wolves would dig deep for corpse meat. The horror.

Sometimes the shotgun in police radio cars are in the trunk, sometimes inside the car where you’d expect a four-button lock. And yeah, I reckon all handcuff keys are the same, at least in the USA.

She clearly wasn’t into more DVD box sets, yet I reckon it’d have been a good thing to stock up on various gauges of shotgun shells (and know how to use them) as well as hit some CVSs for the good drugs while they’re still available (one assumes) to her.

Too bad Manuosos is way paranoid and not playing any SD-card videos. Considering his “main” role, he must have something to contribute (or ruin) before the season ends. And nobody at all has replied to her (assuming The Others would deliver - we don’t see their crazy-ass drones dropping stuff off anywhere).

Nerf guys were saying the “message” was just strings of RNA nucleotides, yet I reckon (it may not be stated) that there was a payload with instructions as well. Why even call the stuff “Milk” at all?

The voice was that of Patrick Fabian, who played Howard Hamlin on Better Call Saul.

If they deliver the package to him, and it’s labeled as from Carol, I think he’ll open it, and if he doesn’t have the equipment to watch it, he can probably find it in the storage units.

Ahh okay, thanks. Just no guest appearances by Bob Odenkirk. Saul, somehow, didn’t survive.

Lot of “ifs” there. Not like there’s any internet left, yet he has a lot of gear and certainly a “burner” laptop with a card reader and, as you said, if delivered and if he opens the package he definitely can play it.

The “ifs” are really “does this serve the story”, and since it’s plausible and I think it probably serves the story (otherwise, what’s the point of the videos, and the point of Manuosos), it will probably happen.

I think so too. The others luxuriating with Elvis’ ghost in concert in Vegas won’t be playing any videos or going to dairies, along with the others we’ve seen (and those we’ve not seen).

Carol may try and make a third video, and if she/we believe The Others won’t lie and censor / deep fake her video, Manusos is perhaps the only one who will buy into “It’s people!”

I think that was implied considering they specifically gave a weight limit for the trash.

Good thing Carol’s neighborhood isn’t real, otherwise we’d have jerks crashing trash drones into it, ala throwing pizza on the Breaking Bad house’s roof.

The bag of trash was definitely too heavy; before the drone wrapped itself around the streetlight, it was clearly struggling with the load. (She wasn’t sure if the bag weighed more than seventeen pounds. If that was me, I would have broken the load into two or three portions and perhaps not included the tray and dome used for food delivery.)

Yeah, that stainless dome and tray could have been put in another bag. Yet then we’d not have had Carol discover how readily available the shotgun is, and most importantly, looking in the recycling can and wondering and sleuthing why these Others drink so much milk out of these exact cartons.
