Pointless spider story

After being away for a week, when I went to the bathroom I noticed that a spider had built a web in the sink and it was just sitting there. I was amazed at how patient it was. I said to myself, spiders sure are patient. Then the next day I went in and there it was. Still there. Hadn’t moved. Still waiting for something to hit its web. It hadn’t moved. I said to myself, spiders sure are patient. Then I had to wash so I turned on the water and the web got washed down the drain. In just a couple of seconds the spider was exposed first to freezing cold water, then boiling hot. The spider managed to crawl out of the way of the water flow and folded itself into a ball. When I left, the spider was still there. How must that spider feel, I asked myself? How would I deal with it if something comparable had happened to me? I went back in a couple hours later and saw that it was rebuilding its web. It finished while I was in there and was once again just sitting there on the web. Waiting. Waiting. So patient. Then I had to wash, and this time it got caught in the water flow and fell down the drain. Bye-bye little spider. Will you survive? Will you crawl back up and make another web in my sink? Will you drown? Did anything ever fall into your web while you were waiting in my sink? What it all worth it?
