This sort of crap keeps up, the police will be armed with nerf guns and will be required to precede any request with “please” so that noone will have their feelings hurt.
I can’t understand this sort of outrage. The kid stole a car, lead the police on a chase, and tried to back his car into the officers vehicle.
The police meanwhile are supposed to know that they are chasing a thirteen year old via their magic police powers and use rubber bullets to subdue him. Of course, they always carry rubber bullets, and the rubber bullets will go through a car windshield with just enough force left over to incapacitate someone. :rolleyes:
Rubber bullets are “less than lethal” not nonlethal. They’re less lethal than lead, at least. The kid was stupid, no doubt about it, but I’d hope that nonlethal weapons were used against anybody in any situation, if possible.
I agree. And I have no pitty for the kid. Cops don’t like to kill people. It’s a last resort that usually leaves them at least bit shaken up themselves.
At first I thought it was an accident-like the car was out of control. But he purposely backed into the cops? Jesus Christ, what do they want the cops to do-martyr themselves?
I guess so. I don’t usually rush to defend the police, or to attack them, but in this case, the cops are blameless. The kid forced their hand. Also, rubber bullets don’t stop a car. Neither does the magic word “please”. It’s all just political pandering of the worst kind.
When will the Rev. Jesse jackson show up? I expect that this is the kind of incident he thrives on(lots of camera exposure).Heck, he might even preach the funeral service for the fallen angel! Also, Rev. Al Sharpton-he can use this to blast te “racists” LA Police.
Where does it say that you have to allow yourself to be killed (if you want to be a cop)?
What is a 13 year old doing stealing cars anyway?
Was he a "good"boy who wasjust “Getting his life back together”?
Or was he a vicious little monster, high on crack or speed, and careless of his own life (and everybody else)?

Aside from your comments, I’m glad to read the range of posts in here. No, it is not cut and dried of course. I am, however, standing by my O.P.- nothing will come of this of any substance, in terms of being allowed to examine the methods and proceedures that led up to the shooting.
