Poll: Coke Or Pepsi?

Ditto on the RC–my mom thought the Pepsi Throwback tasted like RC.

I chose Pepsi, though I’ll drink Coke in a pinch (like a headache coming on). I think fountain drinks taste better than the canned or plastic bottled versions. Bring on the glass bottle Mexican Cokes (and Jarritos and Sidral Mundet, etc).

Whaa? I usually hear the opposite. And personally, I think Pepsi has a far sweeter taste than Coke. They contain about the same amount of sugar, though.

I voted Coke, but also would have voted for RC, even though I haven’t had it in years.

Pepsi One was my favorite for a long time, but I can’t find it much any more, so now I go for Coke Zero Cherry.

Of the two, I prefer Pepsi. Coke tastes a little watered down for my taste.

Dr. Pepper is the best.

I have to go with Coca-Cola myself, but I like Pepsi just about as much. However, I’m drinking more water these days than anything: more than one Coca-Cola a day is too many calories, and it causes horrendous migraines: and if I swap to diet, I’m fine for a few days, but then I end up spending most of my time in the bathroom. Water is safe.

“Horrendous migranes”? :dubious: You know everything you eat is converted to sugar, right? And contrary to popular belief, soda doesn’t have shit-tons of caffeine in it-- less than half of what coffee has. If you’re getting horrendous migraines it’s probably something else and you should get checked out by a doctor.

Pepsi! But I’ll drink Coke and not complain about it. In fact, McDonald’s fountain Coke is the best soft drink option available on Earth, but I’m not always near a Mickey D’s or wanting to pay $1 for a fountain drink. I buy Pepsi for drinking at home.

My cola preference is Pepsi but my soda of choice is Coke mixed half and half with Sprite.

I drank Pepsi as a kid and switched to Coke. If I remember my Marketing classes correctly the preference tends to break out by age.

To me, Coke is more distinctive and less sweet tasting.

Coca Cola. I love the taste of it.

Can barely tolerate Coke, but sometimes when that’s all they have (soda-wise), it’ll do–though Diet is horrid.

But Pepsi is beyond disgusting. Undrinkable for me.

Yeah, to my tastes, Pepsi seems the sweeter one. I have a definitely preference for Coke. It’s got a more spicy, cinnamon-vanilla-type flavor to it, while Pepsi is more citrussy.

Coke hands down, don’t really like the taste of Pepsi.

Pepsi doesn’t mix with booze, therefor, Coke.

The only decent Pepsi product out there is Mountain Dew.

Otherwise, gimmie a Coke.

Maybe it’s a regional thing.

I rarely drink soda,
but when I do,
I make it a Pepsi.

I’m a diet drinker so…

Diet Coke - Good.

Coke Zero - Good.

Diet Pepsi. Horse piss.

Pepsi Max - Hitler had a child with Satan and then their child grew up and had a child with … O hell I can’t think of another evil person of an appropriate time period… anyway, eventually This led to a particular type of banker being born (the type that took stupid risks with other people’s money and now the world is broke)

Well Pepsi Max is what comes out when they pop a zit.
ETA: Which is why, as a diet drinker, it pisses me off when a company adopts a policy of only selling one brand - Pepsi. Very well done for alienating the majority of cola drinkers. Excellent business thinking.

Diet Pepsi in the States, Diet Coke in the UK.

I exclusively drink diet soda. I prefer Coke Zero or Cherry Coke Zero. Before those, I drank Diet Coke.

Diet Pepsi is just bad. The carbonation isn’t right and it has a syrupy taste I dislike. Too sweet, not enough flavor. I’ll drink it if there’s nothing else but I really try to avoid it. This isn’t any particular brand loyalty – if Diet Hansen’s were cheaper, I’d drink their sodas and never touch Coke products – I just hate the way Pepsi products taste. The cherry diet Pepsi is probably the most tolerable.

I also like Diet Dr. Pepper. I even like generic ‘diet colas’ better than Diet Pepsi. Just something about it…

Don’t get me started on Mountain Dew. Eeuuuggghh. Des Moines is Mountain Dew country and dear God it is awful.
