Poll: Colognes for men

What’s your favorite cologne for men?

(I am about to run out, and I want to try something different.)

Thanks!

There’s a couple body sprays by Bod that are really good: Tekno and Really Ripped Abs (I know, the name of that one sucks but it’s a great-smelling spray).

Let’s see, here’s what I’ve got on the dresser at home.

Nicole Miller
Calvin Klein - Obsession
Calvin Klein - Escape
Drakkar Noir
Chanel - Egoiste
Davidoff - Blue Water
Halston
Ralph Lauren - Polo
Grey Flannel

Both my girlfriend and my mother like the Nicole Miller, so you might try that. Just stay away from my girlfriend and my mother.

I’ve never met a woman who doesn’t go weak at the knees at the smell of Drakkar Noir. I’m also partial to Grey Flannel.

I like Realm for Men. Who cares if the pheromone claims are crap, it smells better than anything I’ve ever found. Spicy, but not musky.

I’ve never understood the Drakkar obsession…to me, it just reeks. Perhaps women think that Drakkar smells like “he’s got money”?

I think the Drakkar reaction, for me anyway, is that it doesn’t smell like anything else. It’s hard to pin down what the ingredients are; it’s subtle, yet easily identifiable.

I like the spicy stuff. Anything like a Dominican cigar. For example:

Gucci Envy-This one is really great.

Armani-A little bit more flowery than Envy, but still spicy.

Suo has a good point. I can’t tell what it smells like, but I can always tell when a guy is wearing Drakkar. Which is nice, in SMALL DOSES. My main problem with Drakkar is that whenever a guy wears it (in my experience), he BATHES in the stuff. Blech.

The one I don’t like is Eternity. Smells like soap, makes me sneeze.

On men I like anything with citrus.
But my favorite smells like fresh pipe tobacco.
Sometimes called a woodsy scent, but NOT a pine.

The signature Versace cologne for men is dreamy … the first time I smelled it, it was when a man passed me on the street wearing it. I liked it so much I turned around and followed him to ask him what it was.

It’s very distinctive and not that common, which I think is nice. If I was in a room with 100 men, I could find the one wearing Versace in about two minutes.

I’m an old-spice type of guy, much to the dismay of my wife, who continuously bemoans the fact that I smell like her grandpa…

Hmm…
Maybe it’s a good thing I found this thread… Might be a good idea to pick up something different.

I have one called Woods which is pretty nice and smells nothing at all like a forest. I don’t remember who makes it.

Also, Estee Lauder actually makes a good men’s cologne called Pleasures for Men. While the name instantly makes me think I might be gay (I don’t know why), it does have a nice light, clean smell to it.

I’m really happy that you guys all wear cologne. I can’t believe how many men don’t wear it, and don’t realize the importance. There is nothing quite as nice as a man that smells fantastic. My friends and I have been known to give a guy a second look if he smells good.

My favorite is from Abercrombie & Fitch. It might have a name, I’m not sure. They sell it at the store, and also at Victoria’s Secret.

An all-time classic is Obsession for Men. True story: I was good friends with a guy in college. Just friends. One night we were partying and I got close enough to smell him, and it was all over from then on. To this day, whenever I smell Obsession I think fondly of him.

I like Chrome by Azarro. It has an aquatic scent I guess, smells really clean.

On work days, I wear “Kiton” or “Escape” by CK. On weekends, it is “Obsession”, I think. I’m also partial to “Cool Water”.

I absolutely adore Curve for guys. My now boyfriend used to wear it and so did one of my good friends. Ever hugged someone and just really not wanted to let go?
The only cologne I really can’t stand is Anchor Blue. My best friend used to wear it and now that I hate him I can’t stand it.
“Old Man” smells are pretty bad too, buy nothing from Bath and Body Works for guys… shudder

Kitty

I love it when hubby wears Old Spice…

OOoooooh I love it when a man smells good. That being said, a person should only be smellable if they are close enough to kiss. That walking around in a cloud of stench stuff is too much.

My fav male smells are
Joop
Fino by Davidhof
Drakkar
cool water

Thanks for all of the responses. I think that I may be buying a couple of different colognes this weekend (or at least trying them out).

Thanks again!

YUCK I hate Drakkar, every guy I was in Junior High with wore it and now that’s all it remind me of. I am not alone, most of my friends feel the same way. Obsession is nice, my SO wears Eddie Bauer Adventurer, I really like that, smells like fantastic sex, oh, wait, maybe that’s just my SO.
