Lotta options here, as I have differentiated between girl-girl and boy-boy and have options for straights, gays, and bisexuals of either gender. For obvious reasons, multiple choices are permitted, but please don’t put in mutually exclusive votes. This poll closes in one week; the results are public.
Sorry about that–I thought I had time to edit but did not. I have only included options for men and women and did not break them down by sexual orientation, as that got too damn unwieldy. Also, I wanted to specify that I am looking for Dopers’ reactions to cinematic or televised depictions of such kissing. If a passing mod could adjust the thread title for me, that would be great. I also intended to make the poll public.
There’s likely to be strong correlation between sexual orientation and whether you like same-sex kissing of the same gender as you erotic or not, but adding that with 3 options for straight/bi/gay would give you 18 choices on the poll.
I think the way to do it would be to have a public multiple choice poll:
(1) male
(2) female
(3) straight
(4) bi
(5) gay
(6) erotic
(7) blah
(8) offensive
and do the correlation later, as you could with a public poll.
Female here (straight, ftr). Girl-on-girl kissing, unless one of the girls would happen to be Jodie Foster or Ellen DeGeneres, meh. Guy-on-guy, though, especially if at least one of the guys is hot. . .oh, yeah!

The only problem with that is that you still need to differentiate boy-boy kissing from girl-girl. I know plenty of guys who loved the sight of Madonna & Britney making out at the VMAs but would have been repulsed had it been Justin and…um…okay, I don’t actually know the names of a lot of pop singers. Somebody finish the sentence. In fact, I have a lesbian friend who doesn’t like to watch girls kiss, for whatever reason.
Sorry, yes, you need three more questions to separate those.

I answer “blah” for both f-f and m-m kissing but the truth is more subtle. (FTR, hetero male).
I find m-m kissing kind of yucky but not morally offensive; moreover I have kind of gotten used to seeing it. (The first on-screen gay kiss I recall seeing was Christopher Reeve-Michael Caine in Deathtrap and it nearly ruined the movie for me, partly because i wasn’t expecting it, but also because I was young and ‘gay’ was still shocking. The most recent m-m kiss I’ve seen was the Mad Men season opener, which I’m just now watching–didn’t bother me a bit.
F-f kissing can be erotic but most of the time it’s somewhere between blah and mildly interesting. in general it’s more exciting when the women do not self-identify as bi or lesbian. So a couple of college girls on a dare at a party is going to be hotter than Ellen Degeneres and her better half.
Female/female: blah to erotic, depending. Male/male: blah.

I voted for “blah” f/f and “erotic” m/m (I’m a straight female).
I don’t know that I find m/m kissing “EROTIC!” in all circumstances, but it does pique my interest more than two chicks.
Well, that’s just the ‘blah’ of domesticity, isn’t it? Young hot single man and woman kissing are a lot hotter than a married couple.

I don’t find same-sex kissing erotic, unless it’s in an otherwise erotic scene, but I do love to see two guys or two gals making the smoochies in something I’m reading/watching.
Girl-girl kissing looks erotic to me. Boy-boy is offensive ( in the yucky sense, not the moral sense; I just don’t look at it ). It’s just the kissing; I’ve seen gay porn, and a close up of a man having anal sex with another man doesn’t bother me; but kissing another man? Yuck. Or for that matter kissing a woman or a dog; there’s just something about a man kissing that gets on my nerves.
