Poll: have you seen any presidential campaign ads?

Missouri has one of the latest non-presidential primaries in the nation, and we still have a good two weeks of watching Republican candidates trying to out-MAGA each other with flame throwers, assault rifles, and I swear to God I thought I saw one using a bazooka.

So far I don’t recall seeing any ads asking me to vote for a particular candidate, unless you count yard signs (although I don’t watch much TV). But Kamala keeps asking me for money on Facebook, which leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth (though it won’t keep me from voting for her).

Saw my first anti-Harris ad last night (and unfortunately this morning too). Claims that Biden has been incapacitated all along, that Harris has known about it, and has been running everything from the shadows all along. So all the bad things they have been blaming Biden for are really Kamala’s doing.

So, she’s both the “unqualified DEI pick” as well as “the mastermind in the shadows.” Much like how they painted Biden as both “sleepy, senile Joe” and “Dark Brandon.”

If she was running things all along, why wouldn’t she have orchestrated him dropping out sooner? These people are morons.

So republicans knew about this all along and didn’t make it an issue? They sure are a kind bunch of folks!

No - Dark Brandon was the alter ego that Biden’s campaign came up with to troll the RWNJs. You see Dark Brandon memes appear on his Twitter feed every now and then.

Pennsylvania guy here, just outside of Philly. A good number of ads.

The Harris one seems to be the same one over and over (did you know she failed us at the border and covered up Biden’s dementia?), but there’s a variety of “Trump sucks” ads. I’d say more pro-Harris/anti-Trump than vice versa.

Just saw my first anti-Harris ad too (in Michigan), during a replay of a women’s Olympic swimming event on Peacock. It was short (15 seconds) and just said Kamala Harris is weak on the border.

Just saw my first presidential ad of any kind. It was a positive ad from the Harris campaign.

Yeah, Harris attack ads have been playing pretty frequently now. “Criminals are streaming across the border murdering our children! Poisoning them with fentanyl! ISIS is coming across the border! And Harris does nothing. Nothing!” Such ridiculous, over the top fearmongering. Unfortunately it works, to some extent at least.

I live in a lean-blue state (Minnesota), but most of my TV stations are WI based (even if the station and/or antenna is in MN) I’ve seen a few presidential ads, but a LOT (like at least 2 every break) WI senate ads. Also, there is a contested Democratic primary for WI US house district 3, and there are a lot (at least one each ad break) for 2 of the candidates (none for the third)

Good, she has Presidential experience!

Central Michigan here. And yes I’ve seen a ton of political ads, for the presidency and for down ticket races as well. Weird thing is I don’t watch much broadcast TV aside from news broadcasts.

I have been following the Olympics through the peacock streaming app though, and I’ve seen a lot of ads on there, and at least half of them are for political races. Pro Trump and Pro Harris both.

Since my previous post, I’ve seen two other political ads. One was a fundraising ad from Harris. I didn’t pay attention to the details, but it was her sitting at an official-looking desk saying something. The other was an attack ad against Sherrod Brown (defending a Democratic Senate seat in Ohio this cycle), saying that deportation was totally ineffective, and Brown defends our cities, and therefore you should vote against Brown.

I have Peacock but I’ve only been watching the NBC coverage. I wonder, are the Peacock ads national or can they be targeted to specific regions?

I’ve seen ads on my peacock stream for Michigan house and senatorial races. So my assumption would be that they can be targeted regionally.

They absolutely are. Unless the Kansas City Royals broadcasts on mlb.tv get a lot of national value for the local Indianapolis heating and cooling company ads that I see.

Saw my first Harris ad this morning (Thu Aug 1) was an official ad.
WI TV station (though their building and antenna are in MN)

Watching the Olympics in Chicago-ish I just saw my first political ad of the season. A Harris ad from her campaign.
