(Sorry, I wasn’t sure what vax/boost mixes are used outside of the US, so I didn’t (for example) include Astrazeneca options. For all I know the only UK choice is AZ/AZ/AZ.)
No, that’s not how the UK went. For the record - can’t vote - I got AZ/AZ/PF and Mrs T got AZ/AZ/MD. I don’t think AZ/AZ/AZ was ever an option - the intention was to give a different vaccine for the 3rd dose. For younger persons who were guided away from AZ, I assume they got 2 x PF + MD or 2 x MD + PF.
I’m a 3X Moderna recipient. I got my booster before the rush, and before they had decided that a half-dose would be sufficient. So I got a full dose of Moderna as my booster.
Pfizer Pfizer Moderna for me. My wife has Moderna Moderna Pfizer. I figured we’d mix things up such that both of us had at least the booster of the other. My daughter (nurse) has Pfizer x3.
The only choices were Moderna and Pfizer here, and the former was the only choice at the clinic when I got my first shot. I considered mixing it up with Pfizer, but the data I found suggested they were so similar it wouldn’t matter. So I went for the one with the higher dose, which the studies I’d seen up to that point suggested resulted in longer lasting antibodies.
Later Moderna’s own study on their boosters against omicron came out, and it did seem they had the stronger effect.
Three Pfizers, but if we need another booster, I’ll try for Moderna. It’s a little tricky since I get injections in my leg so I’ll need a medical clinic (not drive-up tent) with Moderna.
Only because I got my first when everyone was scared of blood clotting with AZ, and they changed the priority system. So my doctor talked me in to one while I was having a routine checkup. They could barely give them away apparently. Even though they are free anyway.
Yesterday I was diagnosed with a breakthrough infection. Not nearly as bad the second time around, feels like a mild headcold with mild headache and an extra helping of fatigue rather than the hit-by-a-truck/high fever/can barely move of the first go round.
