Poll - Who do you think will win the US election?

It’s exhausting to stay “enthusiastically” ticked off at someone for all these years.

That’s fair and it’s probably inevitable because the guy is not in office right now and some people might have short memories. But, I think positive enthusiasm is better than negative. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think that leads to more turnout. Because when you’re motivated by negativity, that motivation can quickly lead to despair which kills the motivation.

I am pleasantly surprised that there is less doom and gloom expectation here as I thought.

Yes, but that includes people who hate him.

And that hate will lead to his loss.

(Personally, I think Harris is eminently capable of doing the job, and there are lots of good reasons to vote for her, but this election is going to be a referendum on Trump, just like 2020)

As I often say in these sort of threads, I hope you’re right @Moriarty and I’m wrong!

Pretty much my feeling.

I had a dream last night in which Trump had a heart attack. He didn’t die but his obvious ill health was clearly going to swing the election to Harris. And I remember feeling relief in my dream as I realized the crisis had been averted.

Not happy to be right.

Ditto.

My wife is disconsolate.

So yes the SDMB is an echo chamber!

Well, of course. Good place to talk to like minded individuals. Not a good place to get a wide range of perspectives.

It seems like it:

The alternative is to be overtaken by the fascists, and become one of their echo chambers.

This thread is about “who do you think” will win the election, not who you want to win the election. The fact that so many people here don’t have a real grasp on how politics are played is why the SDMB has such a lopsided view of the world.

Unfortunately, I’m not at all surprised with last night’s results.

Things would have been a lot more fun and interesting had I been right (EC ties).
