You are a Vietnam veteran who spent years in the Hanoi Hilton POW camp, just like John McCain. Lately, a group of people decide they want to honor you by giving you a week-long stay at a Hilton in Hanoi (the nicer kind). How do you feel?
Which presidential election also-rans of the past 60 years (who earned more than 1 electoral vote and had never/would never hold the office) do you think would have been good presidents?
Comedy movie about a group of actors who are known for portraying heroic characters. They are hired by another group of people who are being bullied and abused by a villain and his minions, thinking they are real heroes. The actors happily take the job, thinking it is all just an entertainment show. They take a beating at the hands of the villain, but later become heroes for real and save the day.
There are a number of video games that simulate activities and occupations. Have you ever played a game that simulated something you have done in real life? Examples: You’ve built a PC in real life and you’ve played PC Building Simulator or you’ve done power washing in real life and you’ve played Power Wash Simulator. The game should be a simulation game that is narrowly focused on one activity or occupation. Life simulators such as Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing don’t count because although they contain activities (such as fishing) that you may have done in real life, they are not narrowly focused on one particular activity. It doesn’t have to be the exact activity. Closely related activities count and you can define “closely related” how ever seems best to you. Examples: You’ve flown general aviation aircraft in real life and you’ve played World of Warplanes (an air combat simulator) or you’re a nurse in real life and you’ve played Two Point Hospital (a hospital simulator).
Do you fill out and send in those warranty registration cards when you buy a new product that comes with one? Or register online, since that’s how most companies do it now?
Would you be willing to serve as a moderator for the Straight Dope Message Board, either casually (say, 5 to 10 hours per week in your spare time) or on a full-time basis (around 40 hours per week)?
