When do you take your Christmas decorations down?

  • Christmas Day
  • The day after Christmas
  • Sometime before New Years Day
  • After New Years but before January 6
  • Later in January because I consider the Gregorian calendar to be the decadent work of Satan
  • Not until winter ends because my decorations are all that are saving us from Fimbulwinter
  • After Easter because piles of dried pine needles, wilted holly and faded cards are ideal for hiding eggs in
  • When I get notice informing me that the desiccated husk of a tree has formally been declared a fire hazard
  • NEVER! CHRISTMAS NEVER ENDS!
  • I don’t put up holiday decorations/celebrate Christmas but demand representation in this poll. Also: pie.

Why is New Year’s Day not a choice? That is when you are SUPPOSED to do it.

Because a lot of people are hung over on New Year’s Day.

  • Because Gyrate mentally included it in the “After New Years but before January 6” option without phrasing it clearly enough
  • Because everyone is hungover on that day
  • Because taking your Christmas decorations down on New Years Day angers the Old Gods and may result in the devouring of your soul/children/pie/all of the above

You are responsible for hiring a telephone receptionist whose job will involve taking calls (in English) from new customers and registering their names and addresses in a computer system. How important is it that the receptionist knows the NATO Phonetic Alphabet?

  • I wouldn’t hire any receptionist who doesn’t already know the NATO Phonetic Alphabet.
  • I’d hire a receptionist who commits to learning the NATO Phonetic Alphabet before starting the position.
  • I’d hire a receptionist who commits to learning the NATO Phonetic Alphabet on the job.
  • I’d prefer to hire a receptionist who already knows (or commits to learning) the NATO Phonetic Alphabet, but this isn’t a hard requirement for the job.
  • Whether or not the receptionist already knows (or commits to learning) the NATO Phonetic Alphabet plays absolutely no role in my hiring decision.
  • I’d prefer to hire a receptionist who doesn’t know the NATO Phonetic Alphabet.
