You know how there is a word “inert” but there is no opposite word “ert”. Well, there is also a word “inept”, but there is a word “adept”, which is pretty much the opposite of “inept”.

Therefore I propose a new word “adert” specifically to be the opposite of “inert”.

Someone you deeply care about has just found out that they are eight weeks old. The father doesn’t yet know. Neither parent has a particular moral objection to abortion. The pregnant person’s default desire will be to keep the child, but they value your opinion about serious issues. Under what circumstances would you suggest or encourage this person to get an abortion (to any degree with any amount of effort)?

  • High known likelihood of child being born with major medical issues
  • Abusive partner or immediate family
  • Current financial situation would make child rearing extremely difficult

Rex Heuermann pled guilty today to killing 8 women; there is no chance he will get out of prison before he leaves in a body bag. This poll is ‘inspired’ by others who have plead guilty to life in prison with no possibility of parole rather than go to trial & be subject to the death penalty if convicted.

Hypothetical: You killed someone, in premeditated cold blood, in a state that actively puts prisoners to death. Would you

  • Please guilty, live out your natural # of days in a cell
  • Prefer the death penalty & live a lesser # of years in a cage
0 voters

There is on Other option & there is no discussion on the morality of the death penalty & whether it should be abolished. You’re in prison until you die, the only question is would you want that to be sooner or later.
