Do programmers these days even know what a carriage return is?
- Yes
- No, I don’t even know what a carriage return is
- No, they are too young
- No, AI does all their programming, so today’s programmers know nothing about anything.
Today AI was chastising me for code which sometimes ends with CR/LF and sometimes only with LF. It was crying and crying like a crybaby about it.
Some restaurants have a digital screen and you input your tip for the meal. The meal bill itself is precisely calculated to two digits, like “$34.29.” However, these tips come out in full dollars, not cents. You may have thought you were typing “$6.75” for a tip when you pressed “675,” but it is instead “$675.” How do you interpret this?
- It’s for convenience, letting the customer not need to bother with cents
- It’s an attempt to fool customers into giving much bigger tips than intended
- I was outraged, feeling that it was an affront to the Original cast
- I was a bit perturbed
- I had no strong feelings one way or another
- I was cautiously optimistic
- I was seriously psyched and eager to see it!
- Something Else
I wasn’t outraged that they were doing a sequel, and I was impressed by the pilot, but I thought the first season was wildly uneven.
It got better.
Does Kent_Clark still have time to edit his post?
- Yes

Voted something else. Most of TNG season 1 was underwhelming. There were only a few episodes that foretold how good the series became.
