Polls only: No discussion

Upthread, I posted a poll about retirement.

I linked to this thread in IMHO, where it could be discussed.

I thought that ideally, the two would feed each other. The more people voted, the more they’d discuss; the more they discussed, the more they’d wonder where the current vote stood. I’m wondering how participants liked it (or not). I’m going to tempt fate and make the results a pie chart. Still, pie is a choice.

  • I like toggling between discussion and the poll
  • I mostly like discussion; I don’t keep checking the poll
  • I reply to the poll, ignore the discussion
  • Checking both would depend a lot on my interest in the topic
  • Pie, bacon, shiny or sparkly things

  • I can see all the results from the pie chart poll above
  • I can only see some of the results
  • I can only see some of the results, and I can’t see the key for what the colors mean, so I can’t understand the portion which I can see
  • I can’t see any of the results
  • It’s all Discourse’s fault!
  • It would work fine if you were only using x device and y theme

  • I can see the entire pie and if I mouse over each slice, text appears to show what it represents
  • I’m still confused by what each means

Pick up to 6:

  • well, yes, mousing over the chart works; I just didn’t think of that
  • anybody for whom it still doesn’t work?
  • are we getting pretty good at carrying on discussion under the guise of making a poll?
  • is discussing things in the form of a poll in violation of the terms of the thread?
  • if it is a violation, I don’t care
  • it is a violation and I do care
  • more pie

The Confederacy’s civilian and military leaders were, after all,

  • Honorable men who were only defending their homeland from invasion
  • Slavery-defending scum unworthy of being featured on any public monuments today
  • Treasonous bastards responsible for the deaths of far too many loyal Americans
  • Well-meaning dupes who unwittingly served the Slave Power and all its evils
