Is anybody else in Dopeland watching this show?
I will say that I feel sorry for Hyrum (the 22 year old “missionary”) when he talks about his desire to begin a family; it’s clear that his brain is using “marriage and a family” as a euphemism. I keep expecting “Man, some days I feel like I could start a family eight times a night and then twice more the next morning… I want to get some spirit babies coming here so bad I can taste it on the tip of my tongue.”
All in all, Centennial City doesn’t seem anywhere near the hellhole that the Jeffs compounds in Utah-Arizona and Texas are. I have to say that “Uncle” Arthur seems one of the nicer polygamous patriarchs ever shown on TV. He was even gracious towards his son’s “Gentile” girlfriend and in fact the son seems the far bigger  of the family than the old man. He must have a younger wife who’s not shown to account for the little kids who are running around his house, because the two wives who have been on camera are too old to have kids that age.
I do wonder how many of these families are on public assistance. The one with the 40-something guy with 3 wives and 18 kids is almost definitely receiving something, because they’ve made several comments about high tight money is and apparently only he works outside the home.
