-Bridgerton (sorry, portraying upper-class Georgian English society as racially diverse is a revisionist fantasy, I don’t need to go there).
-The live action G.I. Joe films and the live action Michael Bay Transformers film (this from someone who grew up with the 1980s Sunbow after-school cartoons and doesn’t care for re-hashing and re-interpretation of these. I did watch “Bumblebee”, though, and quite liked it. It featuring Hailee Steinfeld and one of my favorite Transformers characters and containing more respectable tributes to the original Transformers Gen. 1 unlike Michael Bay’s modernized interpretation helped).
-Game of Thrones (one exception, and I don’t even remember if I saw the whole episode. The one which ends with the kid falling off the tower).
Movies -
-Jaws (except for the beginning and end)
-The Matrix
-The Rocky Horror Picture Show
-All but two of the Star Wars franchise films
-Most DC/superhero movies
-Anything related to Tolkien or C.S. Lewis
Note that a lot of these fall in a fantasy genre. I tend to be more into realistic stories. Sci-Fi, I have a passing interest. Fantasy-type things or horror, not so much (though there are some in these genres that I have seen and appreciated, e.g. the two Poltergest films).
I’ve seen most of what has been mentioned except for more recent things. I just don’t seem to have the time. I’ve heard great things about Better Call Saul but never saw any of it. Or Breaking Bad.
There were a lot of shows/movies from the late eighties to right about now that I’ve missed due to working afternoons and weekends or not having access to HBO and streaming venues. I didn’t avoid them, I just had no way to watch. Recently I finished “Breaking Bad” and plan to start “Six Feet Under” soon. Always open to new recommendations!
Yeah, that’s the only GOT episode I’ve seen. It was boring, so I didn’t watch any more. Do not regret it.
Never watched any Law & Order episodes (though Harry makes me want to watch season 5). Watched a bit of two episodes of Friends. Hated both. Never watched any more.
Looking at this thread, I have never seen Better Call Saul, Big Bang Theory, CSI, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Deadwood, Friends, Game of Thrones, House, Incredible Race, Law and Order, Lost, Mad Men, Orange is the New Black, Seinfeld, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Six Feet Under, Sopranos, Star Trek: Discovery, Stranger Things, Supernatural, Survivor, That '70s Show, The Apprentice, The Sopranos, Twilight, Vampire Diaries, Walking Dead, or X-Files. Or any reality show.
I suppose a much shorter list would be shows I have watched.
Friends is the major one for me- just couldn’t relate to it though I was the right age at the time. I have been tempted to watch it because I found out after the series was over that Matt LeBlanc (esp in Episodes), Lisa Kudrow and occasionally Jennifer Aniston are quite funny.
Seinfeld- even more unrelatable to me, just miserable people living in a miserable place . Julia Dreyfuss would be the only reason to watch it and I can see her in other things.
Aliens- I can’t deal with that.
I haven’t watched all of the Office- I’ve enjoyed many of the episodes I’ve seen and watched enough of it to know the basic stories/characters but really was just something I caught if it was on and I had nothing else to watch.
Yellowstone- I have very strong feelings that Kevin Costner is made out of cardboard.
That would be virtually impossible for anyone with a satellite TV subscription. The Shawshank Redemption is on practically every night, along with The Hunt For Red October, one or more Clint Eastwood and James Bond movies, etc.
I have never seen E.T. or an episode of “Friends”.
