If I remember correctly from high school, the average 18 year old’s priorities for prom are (1) getting drunk and (2) getting laid. The porn star will be old enough to buy beer for him but she probably won’t, and at the end of the night he’ll be an 18 year old who just went on a platonic date with a porn star. In other words, sober and very frustrated. He might be better off with a high school girl.
I wonder if these school administrators are the same ones who told me that if I wanted to go to the prom with another female on a “couples’” ticket, then we had to say that we were a “couple.” (My original date was a complete flake and he forgot to rent a tux and lied to me about up until 10 days before prom - my best friend went to a different high school, had her prom a week earlier than mine, and already had a dress.) We had to say we were lesbians so they’d let us in the door together. I did it (I was trying to get a reputation as ANYTHING but Queen of the Nerds), but I still find it odd, all these years later, because a brother and sister went together on a couples’ ticket and nobody said a WORD to them.

If it does, I agree - it IS his business, even if he paid for her (though that’s kind of lame to have to pay a date to attend prom with you, especially if you’re leaving anyway; though I did a lot of things in high school that seem lame to me now but didn’t then). Anyway, I was actually kidding. I don’t care if he paid her or won her or what.
Not having gone to a large high school, I do have a question. My high school class was only 24 people, and our entire high school consisted of only 90, so everyone was allowed to go to prom. But at larger schools, can anyone go, or is it limited to certain years (i.e., freshman, sophmore)?
At my school, it used to be grades 10-12 and their dates. When I was in grade 11, they switched it to graduating students and their dates. Out of all my friends who were planning to go that year, I was the only one who went, and I cared the least.

You can bet that, regardless of what really happened on his prom date, his retelling of the events will be far more impressive.
You know, some “escort services” are actually escort services. Need a date to hang on your arm and look pretty for some event? Hire one. Don’t have a date to prom, but want to go and have a good time for your last year in HS? Hire one. There are agencies which specialize in providing companions who are excellent conversationalists and well-educated as well as good looking. These dates are entirely platonic. Odds are the date for the subject of the OP would have been platonic as well. Escorts and, especially high-roller escorts like porn stars, other “professional companions” do client screenings. Only a damn fool would hop into bed with someone who you have no more info about than them being lucky enough to get through during the Howard Stern show to win the contest.
