Dick’s Sporting Goods will no longer sell assault rifles. They also announced they will no longer sell high capacity magazines, nor will they sell any guns to persons under the age of 21.
DGU with 1 dead and multiple injuries - to the attackers, defenders were unharmed. 7 people come to a residence at 4am, falsely claim they are police, only to be repelled by armed residents using among other weapons, an AR-15 (probably some variant).
Social media feud escalated to an armed home invasion by a group of seven.
S,o it appears that the men in the trailer were expecting trouble from the home invaders.
But, yes, one aspect of this is that a group of seven masked armed invaders pretended to be police. I wonder where they got that idea? The idea that they could be masked, armed and kick down a door? I wonder if they also wore dark clothing with the word “POLICE” written on the back? And the other aspect is that if the men in the trailer had believed they were police, they would likely have been beaten and possibly killed by the invaders. A troubling situation all around.
Be an interesting situation if the people had “swatted” them. Called in a threat, like the gamer kid in Kansas (I think?) did a while back that got the innocent homeowner killed.
They would be expecting these people that they have the fued with, but have actual cops involved. They certainly seemed to be expecting trouble. Says they were “sleeping” but they had a pretty fast response.
So which ones are the Good Guys, again? It’s really hard to tell, unless it’s defined to be the ones with the superior firepower. Is that makes the news positive?
I don’t know for sure where on the “good” scale anyone fits, but I’m very inclined to give points to the ones who didn’t show up as a group of seven, kick down someone’s door and fire a shot as they entered the residence uninvited.
They would have probably been killed. But given they seemed ready for conflict, I would hazard a guess they assessed the situation and made a determination, correctly, that the armed folks at 4 in the morning were not in fact police. Perhaps they looked outside, noticed a lack of police vehicles, etc. and then steeled themselves against the folks knowing about the ongoing feud mentioned in the article. It’s not known how much time transpired between when the invaders declared themselves and when they ultimately made entry.
DGU with 1 injury and no deaths - 2v1 and the one prevailed. Robbers were able to run away after one was shot and go home to their mother, lie about what happened, and try to claim to be the victims. It can be convenient when the perpetrators of crime call the police themselves.
The best part about your link is when traversing through all the linked papers and studies, one cannot find the CDC surveys, and only the opinion of one Gary Kleck says what the CDC surveys say. And then, this:
