Well, I’m sure a few Targaryens who thought they were dragons may have thought they were safe ;). But I doubt it would spare them (or any other ancestors or Valyria). It may require the blower to be a true priest of R’hillor, who may have the magic to prevent being burned.
It seems they already have… or at least Doran already has. I think the rest of the Dorne would fall in line when Dany’s presence makes it… oh, 100% likely that war against the Reach and the Lannisters would break out.
Perhaps she would offer him a place as her Hand? I guess it could happen. Being a member of the Kingsguard would mean that his “lovely” wife gets killed somehow. I think I’d enjoy reading that.
I don’t think anyone knows what happened to Theon, but at the end of AFFC (in the people index) Theon isn’t listed in brackets, meaning he’s not confirmed dead.
I think that the mention of the blind acolyte is evidence that it’s a temporary part of her training. The acolyte in question was going from alcove to alcove, lighting the candles that had been extinguished, and determining which ones were extinguished based on the heat. Apparently it’s a method of training sensitivity to one’s environment. I wouldn’t be surprised if she goes temporarily deaf at some point in a similar fashion.
It’s a bit unclear, I think. When I originally read ACoK and ASoS I assumed he had died, especially since we didn’t get him as a POV character in ASoS. But when I went back and read through ACoK again I noticed we never actually see him die in his last chapter, and Bolton claims he’s alive as a captive, so I think he’s probably alive. It’s not definite though.
The Mage left at the end of that scene and was heading straight for the docks, to catch a ship east. Oldtown could still get sacked, though.
Me too. I’ve always thought that dragons would be involved, since everyone keeps making noise about how the Vale can repel armies of pretty much any size. Either it will get lit up like Harrenhal, or Dany can just fly a bunch of troops up to the Eyrie before the Vale forces move back in after the spring thaw.
Dany should be able to blow the horn without harm, although she has no need. We know that she’s immune to fire, given the way she walked straight into that bonfire to nurse her dragons. But clearly just being a Targaryen isn’t enough, or Viserys wouldn’t have died from his molten crown. It may be that one has to have Targaryen blood (or possibly that of another line of Valyrian dragonlords, if there are any) and possess whatever mystical dragon essence Dany has that Viserys lacked.
