Post summer sale, how many games are on your steam account?

After the last few big steam sales we’ve had polls about how many games everyone has. I’m curious to see how this goes over time. After this year’s winter sale and last year’s summer sale.

So we’re all on the same page, the number you should use for your answer is where it says “View all ### games” on your community page. This number isn’t perfect, it includes free games everyone gets (maybe around 20?) and counts some DLCs as games, and sometimes demos - but it’s easiest way for us to compare all using the same number.

I’m at 428. I know only two people that beat me - Pilot141, and… the other guy I’m not sure his SDMB name, maybe he’ll post here.

But it’s not a contest. Don’t refrain from voting just because you only have 30 games or whatever. I’m curious to see how people are doing across the whole spectrum.

I probably should’ve split up 50-99 into 50-74, 75-99 because I bet a lot of people will fall into that category. And I probably should’ve put 1-24 instead of 0-24, since why are you here if it’s 0? :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah well.

Still 0-24, though creeping towards the top of that range. (I think that’s true even if you count all the Civ IV and HoMM5 games as separate games). Picked up 4 games in the sale.

84 games, it says.

It seems to count “chapters” as separate games for things like Tales of Monkey Island, which bumps my number up a bit. I bought 5 games in the summer sale.

The Steam count is 219, up from the 114 I had last year. This includes things like the whole Half-Life series that I already had pre-Steam as well as the entire Sam & Max series that I got as a result of this year’s sale. Some DLC like the Defense Grid Map Packs are counted separately, while others like the Empire campaigns aren’t.

I probably own more than 300-500 computer games, but too too many on steam. I’ve been buying some more games recently on stardock’s service.

I voted before reading the OP, and am posting from my phone, so can’t check. But if indeed the number counts 20 games everyone gets, it’ll bump me up one category from less than 24. I had no idea there were any free games - I’m sure my account only lists the ones I’ve purchased…

Joe

It only counts free games you’ve installed at some point. I don’t have any listed (except TF2).

cracked 100 with the summer sale. I’m now at 106. I’m also an idiot. No idea when I’ll get to play all these. :smack: and

That’s just on Steam. I have tons of other stuff I’ve bought direct from indie developers (sports sims mostly) and other stuff from Gamer’s Gate.

0, actually. I bought Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition for a friend, and created my Steam account to do that. I like long-playing RPGs and already had everything that I wanted. The only downloaded game I own is the DA:O Ultimate Edition, and I got that through Impulse Driven.

  1. Jesus how did it get so high?

Aha, it’s hard to get a consistent count then. Does anyone know what the games count is on a newly created account? Is it 0, or are there games there built in?

Zero. I had to click the clicky thing to get Portal when I registered (specifically to get a free copy of Portal).

I have 54. I’m actually surprised I have that many. I usually have around 5 installed at a time and I just play those for months.

That other guy would be me. Sitting at 485. Steam takes too much of my money.

You’re actually not the one I was thinking of, he has… 595.

Dear god.

  1. Not sure how much of that is DLC and such of course. Those bundled packs really push up the numbers too.

Voted 25-49.

I was going to make distinctions, like pointing out that I have added shortcuts for a number of disc-installed games so that all games are available in one place. But Steam-bought/activated games number 26, and shortcuts to disc-based only makes the total 35. So by your poll numbers, there’s no difference.

If I count DLCs and expansions (such as MTW with the 4 game expansion, RTW and Barbarian Invasion, Heros of M&M V with the associated expansions, etc etc) it’s a lot more, but strictly games I’m at 35 games…many of which I’ve never played (or haven’t played yet) or played a few times and then figured I’d get back to them some other time.
