Post your WoW character info

I have Pigeon, a level 20 troll hunter. Her pet is Lettuce, a level 20 crocodile, but as soon as I hit level 21 I’m picking up a grey bear (sorry Lettuce).

I’m playing with my boyfriend who is a level 19 troll shaman, and when my sister comes back from camping, her level 4 troll warrior.

Aruvqan, I hate to say it, but your attitude is that of a carebear. I strongly disagree about PvP- there is only so much to killing monsters before it gets stale, at least human opponents are dynamic and creative. Ganking is a small price to pay- don’t want to get killed, stay with a group or near newbie areas if you are a low level. Its really hard for stealth/invisible PC’s to get the jump on you because they made it so even an ‘invisible’ character is visible within like 20 yards. Plus it was fun in the Stress Test casting Turn undead on an Undead player and watching him wind up running off a cliff :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m also a Dwarf Paladin, level 4 (playing thru my friend’s account right now). I picked a Dwarf Paladin because it seemed original to me at the time (though I guess a lot of other Dopers must have had the same idea :stuck_out_tongue: ) and like some have said, I really like hybrid characters because you can do a lot with them. I’m getting the game myself for Christmas, so right now I’m just kind of playing off my friend’s account (with his permission, of course) to get a feel for the characters to find what I really like.

Kheras, my level 5 human mage, is on Khadgar server.

I’d be up to joining a SDMB guild. I would prefer central to mountain, only since I’m in eastern, but whatever. I would also request it be a normal server, cause I don’t actually see the point of a PvP server. If someone wants to do PvP, they’ll turn it on, or do any other action that results in PvP.

Sorry, I missed the part about it being a PvP server. Not actually very interested in that, but on a normal or RP server, I’m down.

I just have 2 chars so far: Dokandas, orc hunter, and Feargus, dwarf paladin, both on Silver Hand, RP, Pacific. available light has Moonsong, night elf hunter, on Silver Hand, and Rainsong, night elf druid, on Elune, normal, Eastern.

Goroshko, lvl 20 tauren druid, on Argent Dawn. Would love to hook up with other dopers for some grouping.

I have 3 characters (was server hopping during the initial lag problems)

Sylesand, lvl 13 night elf hunter on Medivh
Hendra, lvl 5 dwarf priest on Whisperwind
Zoriz, lvl 2 troll mage on Windrunner

Playing on Stormrage (I have friends on the east coast).

My main character is Tuff, Currently level 16 gnome Warlock (same name, race and class as my main in the Alpha/Beta).

My second oldest son (14) has also started a hunter, Fraiser, on my account. My intention is to play up the Warlock with my friends then probably create a Paly or a Rogue as an alt and work that character up on my own doing the patented Dwarf starting lands, Human starting lands, human next zone, Dwarf next zone, NE next zone…rinse and repeat. You can usually solo to at least 40 (with a few quest exceptions) doing this and its fairly fast, though a lot of travel.

Well, I don’t duel, and I don’t like having to watch my back when someone can come up and gank me, wasting my time concentrating on doing whatever I am doing when I get ganked. It can be hard enough mining or collecting herbs and keeping the monsters from killing me to have to deal with some asshole who ganks me to take my copper vein or silverleaf [which did happen to me on a pvp server] My take on things is that in teh real world there are laws against randomly killing someone in your tribe … so even in game it would make sense that there are laws against killing someone in your tribe. They seem to have faction which inclines me to think that if it was ‘real’ there would be laws against killing non-outlaws, after all many of the quests are to go and kill groups of outlaws.

Don’t know about you, but there is a lot more to hunting than just killing, there are some mobs that handle best with certain tactics, spells and weapons and a major source of fun for me is learning all teh different tatics to use. I also do serious tradeskilling, and I get to know people and have already made several good buddies in game to group with when I need a couple people to help me with an elite mob=)

I got the impression that you couldn’t kill people in your own faction in PVP, but rather, you were vulnerable to the opposite faction in contested areas… is it true that anyone can come up and kill you for any reason?

No, I’m pretty sure you’re right.

Does anyone have a link to how the PVP system works?

I totally dig the idea of having territories and battling over that stuff. I used to play a MUD that was fairly unique in that it had a light and a dark side, completely seperated, unable to communicate, and they’d battle each other constantly. It really gave you a sense of community and it gave you something to do… getting a strong enough group to break through an enemy city’s guards and driving your enemies before you and hearing the lamentation fo their women was good stuff.

So if PVP on PVP servers in WoW is like that, I’m definitely interested.

On my PvE server I took part in a raid yesterday. I guess how it works is that guards of enemy cities will attack you, and then you get a pvp flag, or you can manually turn on your pvp flag with the /pvp command, and then people in that town could choose to fight you by attacking you (if you were determined hostile by fighting with the guards) or turning their /pvp flag on.

My group was stupid and badly led… we tried to charge through the guards, one or two of which slaughtered 15 of us, instead of sneaking around them. I ended up in a horde medium level area and started hunting their monsters. The horde players couldn’t talk to me (different language), so they’d walk up to me and gesture… point… spit on me… look confused. It was kinda funny.

However, I was in their territory. It makes sense that they could be able to attack me. I’d like that sort of gameplay. So I’m gonna start a PvP server character as soon as I can figure out what I want.

Here ya go, SenorBeef.
