Postcards from the Arkham Asylum

I’ve recently become demonically possessed. No really. Either that, vampirism or lycanthropy. I haven’t gotten a real clinical diagnosis yet, but the web is always a wealth of information, and these are the most common explanations for my malady.

I normally have these muddy olive colored eyes, often referred to as hazel, though I’m not sure if that is the correct color designation. No matter, they aren’t that color anymore. I woke up recently and upon looking into the mirror, I came to the realization that my eyes had turned…amber. Sure I could have been imagining it, except that before I even explained my observation, I had a friend exclaim, “get away from me with those yellow eyes, demon man!” Truly, it’s nice to have the support of friends.

Well, I’m waiting for the darkness to come calling, but generally I’m not hearing any more voices than usual. I just thought you would like to know.

Cool! Someone else whose eyes change color!

I AM NOT ALONE!!! WOOHOO!!!

Now if only I can get mine to be the same color at the same time…

{And Waverly, sweetie, have your little voices call my little voices and we’ll do lunch sometime.)

Please, Waverly, don’t dismiss the possibility that there’s a rational, scientific explanation for this.

Aliens. You’re playing host to an alien entity. It will all be better once it has burst out through your stomach.

This has been happening to my brother since we were small. They change from a muddy swamp to a golden/orange.

Possession would explain a lot.

Happens to one friend of mine. His eyes are normally a kind of grayish blue but when he gets ‘really creative’ aka ‘grab the tape recorder because God knows what he’s gonaa say and we’ll want proof’ his eyes turn a very bright blue.

I know a man whose eyes are golden yellow. (not really amber as amber has more brown in it.)

My eldest sister’s eyes turn from green to blue when she is angry.

Perhaps you were just colorblind until a night of drinking and braindamage set you straight.

HUGS!

Those aren’t your eyes. It’s a damned mood ring.

What voices do you normally have in your head, screech-owl? I often channel Galileo and Darwin [or my own stereotypical versions of them], though lately this Azathoth character has been chiming in. He seems nice enough…

No, UncleBeer, however close up they do look like liquid crystal. Brain damage is a real possibility, so long as it’s mass hysterical brain damage.

Omigod!

A BATMAN fan!

I have comics dating back to the 60’s, but I am loath to sell them, because they have become so much a part of my life. I love the BATMAN saga, much more than Star Wars.

I know this is off-topic, but I had never seen Arkham mentioned in a post before.

I hope you get your eye problem fixed though!

Quas

No, actually it was a reference to H.P. Lovecraft, I wasn’t aware of it’s use in Batman.

Also used in Batman comic, Waverly. Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane, where all of his costumed foes end up.

Heavy-duty discussions with Machiavelli lately.
Then there’s a 17th century barmaid named Prudence (great information and some kick-ass home-brew recipes).
Some minor courtier from the Ming or Song dynasty, but I don’t speak a lick of Chinese, so we don’t chat much.

My eyes are either blue or green, depending on what color shirt I’m wearing.

My eyes are bluish green. If I’m calm, they look more blue. If I’m feeling something intense, they look more green.
It’s a game my IRL friends love to play…say something you know will irritate hardygrrl, such as “the Cubs are starting to slump” and watch the eyes change.

I’m sort of disappointed, I thought you had a wonderful idea for a new game

It’s not clear from the OP are you talking about a perment or temporary change? Cecil did an article about perment changes which are rare, but a lot of us experience temporary ones frequently. I’d only worry if the color stayed that way more than a day or so, personally.

<adds Arch Villain to the list of plausible explanations>
The change was seems to have been with me several days, but the traffic signal amber did calm down a bit leaving me with a shade somewhere in between the original color and disturbed amber. I recall Cecil’s article, I’ll have to look it up and refresh my memory.

Machiavelli, yes, I’ve heard from him as well. I’ve always found him to be a very practical fellow.

My eyes used to be very, very hazel (it even says “Hzl” on my driver’s license), but a couple years back, I got in a car accident. Immediately afterwards (well, several hours afterwards), I noticed that my eyes were very, very blue. They’ve stayed blue.

I also have these flaring, yellow rings around my pupils. It looks pretty cool.

When the color changes like that you have “eyes like the sea”. (I do! I do!) Changable and mysterious. Chicks dig that.
