Is it possible ( or allowed ) to post an MP4 file to the board?? Sometimes posting a ‘link’ just seems to be impossible. Do I need permission? Do I need to filter it through a review committee first?
You can’t directly upload & embed media items here (we have that setting disabled), whether it’s an image or video. But you can upload the MP4 elsewhere (GDrive, YouTube, etc.) and post a link to it.
There’s no allowed way to upload a file onto the forums so they they’re accessible from a post.
An MP4 is just a video file, so should be hostable on an image-hosting site, so the standard instructions for posting a picture should work. (A lot of “pictures” on image sites are actually videos.)
Also, posting to YouTube or the like should be viable, although I don’t know what hoops you have to jump to do the upload.

Check out the pinned thread “How to avoid the YouTube posting bug” in Site Feedback. With a simple workaround, you can post any video that’s hosted on YouTube.
