Sorry for the delay; my connection at home has been awful lately, and this wasn’t a search I thought I could get away with on my computer at work.
Anyway, I’ve found the following:

What the conventions are nice for is the sense of community. Some of the posts in this thread talk about feeling weird or odd or alone for liking m/m and, believe me, that feeling goes away very quickly when you’re hanging out with a hundred or more people who enjoy the same things you do. Even if you aren’t all in the same fandoms, you’re with people who look at certain books, movies and television shows from a perspective similar to your own, who understand what it is you see in them, and whom you feel perfectly comfortable discussing them with. It’s also a chance to share and talk about fanfic. It’s a great way to spend a weekend.
My partner and I used to live with a woman who was [and I can only assume still is] a lesbian, and what little porn she had was man on man. After my favorite DVD went missing a few times, I asked her about it and she said that, specifically, it was all of the “thrusting,” and the power behind it. I said, “There’s lots of thrusting in straight porn.”
“No, that’s not the same.”
“Well, you could have woman on woman thrusting. Granted you’ll need to add some kind of ‘gear’ to the mix.”
“Nope. Not as good as two guys.”
And that was about it. We never could figure out why, or even come up with a possible reason. Although, I think that [for her] it was a mixture of forbidden fruit [Get it?] and power issues.

Okay I’ll check in here. I am a butch female (except for the long hair and jewelry) who LOVES male on male sex. When I was young I always played the male in our group of kids and puberty was REALLY hard on me coz I realized that I was NEVER going to wake up and be a guy.
My hubby is bi so occasionally we have had some “interesting” moments in the bedroom with a willing male friend. As far as porn goes I do keep track of the gay male authoritarian section at Nifty Archives… talk about HOT!
I have never wanted to get between two guys, so I think its the raw, dirty sex thing. Plus I just love the way two guys move together in bed… mmmmmmmmmm yeah!
