powerpoint help

I have this presentation that has a lot of children’s photos. It is set up as a slideshow. I have inserted a sound file that gives background music.

But the stupid powerpoint doesn’t insert the sound file but it seems to just link it to a sound file on my hard drive.

my problem is that I want to burn it onto a CD so I can give to other people. I want to do the pack and go so that people without powerpoint can view it. But it seems that powerpoint won’t play the music from the CD because powerpoint just links the sound file.

How can I do this so that I can burn the powerpoint slideshow with music so that sound file plays from any cd drive whether it is the d, e or t drive?

Any ideas?

My knowledge of Powerpoint is fairly limited, but here’s what I would try:

Move or copy the sound file(s) that you want to use to the folder that your PP presentation is going to be created in, then create the presentation using the sound files in that location. The sounds should then be linked to the sound files within that folder, so that when you burn the folder onto a CD the sound files also get burned (and hopefully linked correctly as well).

Hope that made sense…

This is ugly but should work.

Create a transparent box.
Right click the box.
Custom Animation
Order and Timing Tab
Select Automatically
Effects Tab
Change No Sound to Other Sound and browse to the file you want.
OK out of all of that.
Save the file and the sound should now be embedded in the presentation and will play automatically.

HTH.

Thanks!!!

It seems to work but I’m wondering if I can use mp3 and not wave formats?

The song I have in there is 11MB but in wave it’s 120MB…
