I’m using PowerPoint 2000 to create a slideshow of pictures. What I want to do after is put the slideshow on a VCD so I can play it in a DVD player. Is there a plugin or download that can convert my complete show into AVI or MPEG? I know I could do a work around using my digital camcorder but I have a feeling there is an easier way. Thanks in advance!
If you know anyone that has Mac PowerPoint 2001 or X, you can save your PPT file from the Mac version as a QuickTime MOV.
If you do not know anyone that has Mac PPT and you want me to, let me know and I will send you Mail, then you can send me the file and I will do it for you, assuming your Mail server can handle the filesize, as it will undoubtedly be larger than 1MB. (QuickTime doesn’t have the ability to compress graphics and sounds like PPT does, so the filesize will be greater than the size of the PPT file).
I’m sure there is another way to do it somehow, I can’t be the only one who wants to do this. But if there isn’t anyone who has any other suggestion I might take you up on that offer! Thanks!
I know for a fact that Windows PPT does not have a way to export to video, nor would any 3rd party add-on know enough about the windows CODEC that we use to be able to do it.
You could use an NTSC capture board to record the SlideShow, but that would be expensive and offer not much more than using your camcorder. (Although the trap would be a little cleaner).
Or, there may be some PC utility that records screen actions and exports them to a video file - I’m afraid I don’t know as much about the Windows side of things since I moved over to the Mac. I’ll look around and see if I see anything like that…
Here we go. Cam Studio 1.8. Records screen activity from your Desktop to an AVI movie. It’s a shareware program, so the price is right. (I know nothing about it, so download at your own peril).
Hope this helps.
Thanks Dooku! I’ll have to give that a try later. I guess doing this isnt as popular or as easy as I thought. Thanks for all the help though.
For slideshows, I’ve been using a very cheap program called PicturesToExe.
