Practical Magic movie question

Were the elderly aunts portrayed by Dianne Weist and Stockard Channing in the movie lesbian lovers? There was no overt indications of lesbianism in the movie, and of course the plot gives the characters an excellent reason not to express any heterosexuality they might feel.

However, on watching it again recently, I noticed they were kinda close and happy in the movie, not bitter and angry as you might expect having to repress their sexual feelings.

I personally don’t have much of an opinion either way on the issue. I don’t think lesbianism would change much either way. But I thought I’d see what others thought.

I didn’t get that impression, myself, it’s not all about sex for some people. And who says they didn’t bang hot studs/studettes like bunnies, it was only true love that was cursed, IIRC. Zipless fucks are apparently still on the table.

The aunts are parallel characters to the two sisters, and to the two daughters of Sandra Bullock: they’re all pairs of sisters.

Good point, they represent the older generations that got totally screwed by the curse. But it’s not relevant to my question, I think.

Right, it’s not all about the sex, and whether or not they were lesbians didn’t really matter much at all in terms of the story, I was just wondering if anyone else had had that thought.
