Practically Perfect in Every Way. Mary Poppins, this is NOT your MMP!

I went to a friend’s house because she was hosting lunch. It was just a “girl” thing. Anyway, we had a nice visit and a nice lunch. We ate, we chatted, we enjoyed a couple of drinks, and then some coffee.

I’m home now and probably in a couple of hours, I’ll contemplate dinner. Right now, I’m just too full. I only had half a sandwich and a salad (no dressing), but still, I just feel full.

OH, the funny stories I could tell. If only… ;)

Rescue story coming…

Wilderness search exercise today; buddy Tollie and I found the victim.

While we wait for the stories, I’ve got one that’s been burning a hole in my pocket all day.

Ve lost Ole Olson today. Yeah, yew betcha. He vas up on da Canadian border cuttin’ up some vood for da fireplace.

Vell, I guess dere vas some border guards up dere dat saw him comin’ close and yelled out, “Who are yew and vhat yew doin’ out dere, eh?”

And dat Ole he yoost yelled back, “Hey! I’m Ole- - -bin loggin’”

So now den, dat yoost leaves Lena and her gud friend, Sven tew mourn him.

ROTFLMAO!
CANES WIN! CANES WIN! CANES WIN!

If the Packers can beat the Traitor, and my friend’s C league team wins, it will be an outstanding sports weekend.

Today I went to Extreme Mustang Makeover, where trainers are given 100 days to train a wild mustang from the BLM corrals into a riding horse. There’s a cash prize for the best trainers, and at the end of the event, the mustangs are auctioned off. The trainers get a portion of the sale price. It’s a good thing because it showcases the versatility of the mustang, to hopefully spur adoptions from the BLM lots. The Bureau of Land Management rounds up the mustangs off federal land. If they aren’t adopted they risk slaughter.

I also found out that the clutch in my tractor is gone. Since the only way I can get it into gear is to turn it off, put it in gear and start it while it tries to run away with me. Since it’s already tried to kill me once by rolling over on me, I’m more than a little wary. I’ll get it fixed before I mow the rest of the back pasture.

Friday my sister and I went to see “Hereafter”. I liked it, but she thought it was disjointed. The previous Friday my nephew and I went to see RED, which was an unqualified hit with both of us.

StG

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN

Germie don’t get killed by your tractor ok? We kinda like ya and stuff around here.

Kite that made me giggle. HEE!

Ok, need more caffiene and should consider brekkies. Do I cook or will it be cereal and toast. Decisions, decisions!

There’s a baby store in downtown Hippy Hollow that sells baby clothes that are made from organic cotton. Their prices are obscene for something that the baby is just going to poop on. Of course, being from the family I’m from, I consider any baby clothes that aren’t free obscenely priced for something the baby is just going to poop on. My sisters traded their boy baby clothes back and forth for about a decade before they both decided that two or three kids was enough. Even Niece wore boy baby clothes.

The one with baby goats and snowstorms that made me chilly watching them from southern Spain?

I’m deheathanated, and doing some cleaning. I need to go and buy a new carpet cleaner. My old one tried to give itself a Viking funeral.

Nava ,that’s the one.

Germie, remember: Working clutch:good Squished Mumper:bad.

StG: what doggio said.

tarra: missed your request the first time around. I pm’d you a link to her uploads. She hasn’t uploaded anything in over a year.

Slept in. Am up and breakfasted already. Am going off shortly to get deheathenated, then it’s laundry and garden stuff. Yay!

Hugs all.

GT

I made it home after a long and stressful day. US Airways sucks donkey butt and I never ever fly them for that exact reason. I booked United flights not realising it was a codeshare. Anyways. Made it home. Ror 14 hours. Slept for 9 of them did laundry and repacked for an hour. Ate supper last night with mr ems and breakfast with him this morning and now I am headed to LA to catch another plane. I’s tahred.

Have a super Sunday everyone. rosies sig to all.

Up and decaffeinating as we speak.

Bumbawife has gone out to her studio and left me to my own devices. When she comes back we’re gonna make an Original Joe’s Omelet.
Original Joe’s is a restaurant in Eugene, OR. One of their signature dishes is the Original Joe’s Omelet. It’s onions, garlic, mushrooms, and wilted spinach all scrambled up in some eggs. It is teh yum! (if you like that sort of thing.)

I think I’m gonna go mix up some lye and warm up some coconut and palm oils to set up for a batch of soap, and then purtify myself while everything reaches the correct temperatures.

I think they should put rollbars on tractors. And seat belts. I’m just sayin’.

I think all the airlines suck any more. If I never fly on another airplane, I won’t miss it one bit.

Laters.

Whew - break time!

Right after breakfast, daughter and I sat down to do her insurance. Then I ran a quote to see what it would cost for her to have her own policy rather than being added to ours. It came out almost $200 cheaper on 6 months!! I thought we had a multi-car discount, but maybe having multi-drivers has something to do with it? Anyway, she’s going to have her own policy as of 1 Nov, so we’ll carry her for a week. Geico is weird.

She’s also talking about getting her own place next summer. Only way would be if she had a roomie. I’ve got a sickening feeling who the roomie might be and it really worries me - yet another in a series of under-employed, under-educated guys. Why does she keep latching on to those types?? It’s as if she feels she has to save them or something. Why can’t she meet a responsible adult-type male person? Oh well, she knows we’re not financing any more weddings.

I have decided that doing pumpkin from pie pumpkins is a pain in the patoot. We literally had to cut them in half on FCD’s bandsaw! Then scraping the seeds and fibers out of the center was messier than I’d ever expected. The halves are baking in the oven right now, so we’ll see how they come out. At worst, I’ve wasted a couple of dollars and the electricity. One way or another, we’re having pumpkin pie today - I’ve got canned pumpkin, which is all I intend to use from now on. Period. End of story. Stoopit pumpkins.

I did go to WalMart and get critter food and a little people food, too. In an out in half an hour - pretty good at that store, especially on Sunday morning. I think I picked exactly the right check out line. Plus I had a list, which made the going faster. Except I forgot to put one thing on the list. grrrrrrr But I ain’t goin’ back.

**mmmmmmm **- I feel for you. I hate to fly with a white-hot hate. Hope you can adjust your employment so you don’t have to keep doing it.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I really should do my laundry.

Yes! Thanks so very much for the link GT. I have problems getting the search engines on some sites to work for me, and you tube is one. I’ve bookmarked her page there now. And yes, Nava, that was the one - with the baby goats being born, in -42 degree weather!!! I hope she’ll put up some new vids soon!

Been lolling about today, although I just made some curried veggies and rice. Last night I saw the season finale of “Pit Boss” on Animal Planet - I don’t know how I’ll do without the pit bulls on there but I guess I’ll have to survive with “Pit Bulls and Parolees,” not exactly the same, but at least the dogs will be there. If you haven’t seen “Pit Boss,” you should check it out - the pit bulls are terrific, btw!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday - even those who are already at work! Dotty, I know you’re very busy, but do drop in from time to time - I specially like the recipes you share with us!

**tarra **- I was just wondering the other day what became of **Dotty **- I guess she doesn’t love us any more.

Nah, not possible…

Two punkin pies are cooling. Two punkins are also cooling before I fling them out in the woods - I expect some critters will gladly eat them.

Time to get the towels into the dryer. Always something…

MOOOOOOM how thoughtful of you! It’s a known fact (even if I did just make it up) that woods critters lurve them some baked punkin! BTW, no punkin pie is good pie IMNSHO. Da bear does not like punkin.

Today I deheathenated (ok, we deheathenated), made grilled ham 'n cheese sammiches for work and have messed around on teh intertoobz. Not very productive but I did not intend to be productive. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

I hate flying, but Alaska Air and their sister airline Era (in state only) are fabulous, I truly cannot sing their praises high enough. Hawaiian Air was super good too.

Pumpkin pie is one of my favorites, but only with canned pumpkin and Libby’s recipe. Sometimes some chopped pecans thrown is nice, but generally just the whitebread America type pumpkin pie. Then again, pie is good, I like pie! When come back and all that! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sick, I feel sicker, but I am taking the antibiotic and the cough syrup, resting and drinking lots of clear liquid. I can not wait to close and move. The weather is more temperate, and living in a mobile home I have had to deal with black mold and other issues trailers have. I have to remember how to post photos and then I can show off my new, for real stick house! It’s yellow!

37 days until we close!

Pumpkin pie has to have real homemade whipping cream. Cool Whip just doesn’t compare.

Tornado warnings a little to the west of me. Hopefully we’ll get good rain but no tornado. My house has stood for 161 years - I think I’ll make it through the night.

StG

Cool whip may not compare, but it’s quick and easy, and sometimes that’s all you need. And the pies are yum!

We’re starting to look at fixer-uppers for daughter. She figured out that a mortgage could be cheaper than a rental. And we have the ability to do most fixer-upper stuff. So we shall see.

Thus endeth the weekend. Far too short.
