Practically Perfect in Every Way. Mary Poppins, this is NOT your MMP!

Forgot to say earlier: glad to see you’re still around, Taters. Hang in there.

I’ve been knitting and watching a couple of episodes of Masterpiece.

Gotta get to bed…

Happy Friday night, everyone.

GT

I survived work, one more day till my day off.

Sorry mmmmm. Hope it gets better.

I hung some window shades in my bedroom tonight and was shocked when a dog in the yard started barking at me. It was in my fenced yard but it wasn’t my dog. I went to check on it, taking a big heavy flashlight with me to bonk it if it tried to attack. But the neighbors had already managed to get it back over the fence. Not sure how they managed it. It makes me nervous about letting my dog out though. I wish I could afford to replace the privacy fence.

Later tonight I took the dog out and she stopped short in the garage and I fell over her. I fell forward into a laundry basket which at least helped cushion my fall, and I landed on my hands. So now my right wrist is killing me. Stoopid dog, I risked my life to make sure she didn’t get attacked and that’s how she thanked me.

And that’s all I can stand to type.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.

Coyote ouch! Hope it all feels better today.

Hope work gets better soon mmmmmm.

Not much planned for today. We’re discussin’ the idea of good Chinese for N.O.L.. I’m thinkin’ hot dawgs and fries for dindin especially if we do that.

I get here at 7:00 am to do stoopit inventory and find out it doesn’t start until 9:00!!! I didn’t work yesterday, and in Wed’s orientation they told us to be here at 7:00 am on Saturday. A simple phone call would have helped, ya know? Shit.

So I’m playing on the internet and getting paid time and a half for it. Oh - just like any other day, huh? :stuck_out_tongue:

Break time! I’ve been up and about since 8, altho I’ve been mostly up since 6 when I took the dogs out. Anyway, we’ve had breakfast, I’ve done a couple of loads of laundry, and I just finished shampooing the dining room carpet - it was GROSS!! I’m having some lemonade and killing a little time before emptying this room and cleaning its carpet - it’s also gross - I can see piddle spots from the evil puglet. Those are my 2 big chores of the day. I may do some more laundry later.

**FCD **and daughter are building and installing screen panels, including a door. They aren’t building the door - just installing that, but they have to build the frame. Much pounding outside but no yelling - daughter has about lost her voice. poor baby…

Oh, I also cleaned the cat’s box - dumped all the old litter and hosed the whole thing out, then refilled it with citrus deodorizing litter. Which reminds me - I need to go to WalMart for critter kibbles, wet food, and litter. And maybe some people food, too.

Still coughing like crazy, but I don’t feel sick. Just annoyed. Sick sucks.

WOOHOO!!! We could use a designated herder - I think the two from last year moved. Just be warned that Santa herding can be somewhat like cat herding.

(obligatory EDS commercial here)

A rare work Saturday and then home to grill something. Don’t know what yet.

I used to be a perfectionist. I drove myself nuts with any task I attempted and rarely got things finished. I’d lose interest if there were errors I had to fix. And I HAD to fix them.

It was a major struggle to shake this stoopid habit. But I got some counseling, talked to others with the same problem and made a major and long-time effort to do it. I was going to do it perfectly and persist in not practicing perfectionism.

After much hard work I can now state honestly that I am perfect at not being a perfectionist.

Yay, Kite, for getting over the over-perfectionism!

I’m back from the park where we did a bunch of mask stuff that turned out really cool. Pictures, eventually.

Now I need to go outside and actually do some work in the garden. Woo hoo!

GT

Woo Hoo! I am taking full advantage of the weekend to be a slug-a-bed and have spent much of today already watching bunches of HGTV!!

Ouch, Coyote! I hope you are feeling some better today and am sending healing vibes your way.

GardenTraveler (just felt like going all formal today!), you are so crafty; wish I could be there to see some of your Halloween decorations. And you eat healthy too (fruits, veggies, cheese)–I look to you for inspiration.

Moooommm, you’re a bit too efficient for me today! Sorry to hear that you’re still sick, though, and sending healing vibes your way as well. Daughter’s cat will just go out into the enclosed porch-like area, right, not actually out into the wild? Sort of like a cat run? LOL

Does anyone remember farmer chick (I think?)? She lived on a farm in mid-western (I think) Canada somewhere, and had some videos up on you tube, including some really funny ones with her turkeys and other farm animals. Now I can’t find them any longer! Maybe she’s still out there, lurking … if you are, I would definitely love to see more vids!!

Today I have done, well, nuttin’ pretty much. I did change the propane tank on the grill so I have not been a hunnert percent slothful. Just one of those don’t wanna do nuttin’ days. Nappy poos were had even. That’s two people takin’ a nappy poo.

We had ham 'n cheese omlettes, grits and toast about elevenish, so it was brunch. Later today is hotdawgs and fries as promised.

That’s the excitatement from swampland.

Ok, I was just talkin’ with MOG. I guess I’ll need to change that to Granny soon. She has been baby shoppin’. No, not shoppin’ to buy a baby, shoppin’ for the impendin’ newborn. Sheesh! Anywho, she found a set of bibs on sale. Polo by Ralph Lauren. She said they even have the little polo logo on 'em. Designer Bibs! I guess that’s what the well-dressed infant drools on.

I done killded the MMP!

Dindin is et.

That is all.

I came home from work and promptly fell into “nappy-poo” land! It’s not that I worked so hard - it was mostly sitting around picking our butts - but I slept so pitifully last night that I was tahred.

Din-din will be a casserole that I removed from the freezer. Chicken, broccoli and wild rice.

It’s been a long, long day. Trying so hard not to get down, and failing miserably.

Rebo do you intend to be nice and bake the casserole or serve it on sticks like casserolesicles? I sometimes threaten to do that with frozen stuff.

It’s not dead, it’s just pinin’ for the fjords!
Dinner is Mexican style Bachelor food, then off to watch hockey at my friend’s house.

Good job, Kite!

Thanks for the compliments, tarra.

mmmm, casserolesicles! :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry you’re down, Annie.

OK…so I was going to do laundry and haven’t done any yet. Also, I was going to work in the garden. Nada. But I’ve been knitting and watching stuff on hulu.

Should have some dinner. And a nap.

Hugs.

As I was about halfway done with the second room’s carpet, I got a phone call - daughter’s car was in. They’d been calling and messaging her all day, but she’d been working outside with her dad. They had run to Lowe’s when the call came in, so I called them and she was understandably delighted. I finished the carpet just as they got home, so she and I set out for the dealership.

It was a long and convoluted process, but she’s now the proud owner of a magenta Ford Fiesta. And Ford was able to give her a better loan than the credit union on a package that includes ALL her periodic maintenance up to 60K miles! So for a lower monthly payment, she’s getting more than she’s originally planned on. It’s a very nice car - if anyone is considering an economical hatchback, check out the Fiesta. End of endorsement for which I am not getting paid.

Anyway, we’re home and I’m relaxing. It took several hours at the dealership for who know how many reasons. One of the last things she did was take a photo of her old car and the new one side by side. Then we met **FCD **at Famous Dave’s for supper, but I was less than impressed, altho I do love their corn muffins! But like I said, now we’re home and I’m in the chill mode.

Tomorrow will be laundry day. Maybe more - I don’t know. And I hope to get a pic of the kid and her new car up on photobucket…
