practice

This question was in an SDMB thread about Star Trek technology but no one answered it in that or any other thread I can find: do sonic showers really work? (Actually the question in the ST thread was, would a sonic shower make you go deaf?) Alternatively, are there any other theoretical non-water cleaning methods which we might see in the future which might replace the shower on the space station?

Why shower in space? If someone attacks you in it, no one can hear you scream.

Of course, one would presume that, unlike Jason (from Friday the 13th), Norman Bates has yet to become an astronaut.

Arnold, you should know that the software has you listed as “unregistered”. One of out beloved admins listed as “unregistered”?

(that is, when I went to ATMB, it said the last reply was by “unregistered”… let’s hope it doesn’t do that to me!)

Actually, when I tried to submit ths reply, I got a message saying that I didn’t specify a username for my post… what’s up with that? I’m logged in and everything…

It keeps on happening, too… time to copy and paste this in the reegular reply window! (let’s see what happens when I try to submit this!)

Flamnsterette_X, we’re doing some heavy-duty testing. Make way for the people in the white lab coats!

testing again

So would the testing explain why, every time I tried to click on a thread (or go back in my browser to one) earlier tonight, it gave me a nice little dialog box like this?

I’d hope that’s the reason for that happening! Seems to be fine now, but you never know!

Yes, the testing would explain it. The problem is that we have to do our testing “live”, i.e. when users are logged in.

Again with the testing! Will it never end?

Let’s try this then.

How about now?

I can’t believe it!
