When do you think we’ll see the first major studio film about some aspect of Trump’s campaign, presidency, etc? What do you think it will cover, and what “spin” will it take? Who would play what roles?
I’m wondering if there is a custom of waiting until someone is out of office. Would it be fictionalized or a purported expose.
I am not a film-maker/storyteller, but I wonder what creative types will seize on as the subject matter for a movie. At first I was thinking creators might wait until the Mueller investigation wrapped up, but his campaign itself would have sufficient material for a single film, as would the chaos of his incoming administration. And would it be better to presume to write about Trump, or to have a fictional narcissistic, misogynistic candidate with authoritarian tendencies? Focus on the Russia angle, or how Trump is perceived by other world leaders, or on his supporters and how he appeals to them?
If I were a writer/film-maker, I would consider Trump a “target rich” environment!
I think it WOULD be desirable to see a number of such films, tho, as I feel film is uniquely able to tell certain stories, and reach people who may otherwise fail to venture outside their cocoon.
